Okay, well, this episode I have heard something about. What I've heard makes me more than a little nervous about watching it, but farad has done her best to reassure me ( Read more... )

Your caps are gorgeous! I snagged me a whole bunch of them. *g*

OMG, Vin pulling the cork out with his teeth was...guh! Both times I watched the ep it made me all shivery. *g* And the blue shirt. Vin was so very pretty in this ep. (And I'll freely admit that most of the caps I took were of him. *g*)

Mary was looking quite lovely in this ep. Did you notice that when Mary said Gerard was a friend of her late husband's, Gerard called him 'Frank' instead of 'Stephen'?

I agree that Chris has never made a play for Mary, so him acting jealous in this ep and letting Gerard think there might be something more was very strange. Unless, as you say, it was his own competitive nature. You're also right about Chris' smile. Muh.

Why is Vin being so in your face at Richmond? I mean there's no especial reason why Richmond should take O'shea's offer and, if Vin were in his position, he'd probably be getting his back up too.

I didn't understand that either! I mean, sure, Richmond is being quite unreasonable wrt the seven, and nasty towards Charlotte, but that doesn't mean he's wrong about this.

Buck and Ezra competing for Eugene's attention, and failing so spectacularly, was quite funny. Too bad Ezra didn't have an audience, like Buck did. (I didn't notice Chris there laughing, as well, so I might need to check that part out again.) I especially loved the little shoving match Buck and Ezra got into when Josiah is the winner. *g*

And how much did I love the fact that Ezra was writing a letter to his mother, and Buck read it out loud, lol! Oh, Ezra.

Ah, Vin and Charlotte. I find a lot more sympathy for Charlotte than I remember having when I first saw this years ago, but I'm still not happy that Vin was willing to throw away everything he and Chris could have had (if only Chris would drop his vendetta). *sigh*

On a happier note, the pretty ran rampant in this ep, yes!

OMG Yes!! And just imagine if you will that he was talking to Chris there, and it was a tall gunslinger in a black duster just taking up the left edge of the screen that he was keeping his eyes on so intently while pulling that cork out with his teeth. ::spontaneously combusts::

Hmmm, no I missed that. And I'm a little annoyed. This show's usually better than that. (I mean how hard is it to look back at the shooting script of an old episode?) Maybe Frank was his middle name or something.

Unless, as you say, it was his own competitive nature.

I really think that was it. He didn't especially want Mary, but he doesn't want to *lose* either.

You're also right about Chris' smile. Muh.

Oh *gosh* that was *nice!!

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised that Chris doesn't call him on it, though maybe that being pissy with Richmond is coming out of his feelings for Charlotte.

(I didn't notice Chris there laughing, as well, so I might need to check that part out again.)

Yep, it was very cute!

Well, see okay...but look, Vin was more or less rejected by Chris last episode right, Chris is going whole hog on the vendetta (at least in theory), no room for Vin. So Vin's maybe more vulnerable than he might otherwise have been to someone who actually wants him, someone he can *help*, etc. And, as soon as Chris needs him (and as soon as he realizes she's going to want him to be a dirt farmer) Vin'll be back where he belongs. :D

And yeah, this was an *uber*pretty episode!!

*joins you in your combustible state*

Hmmm, no I missed that.

I missed it the first watching, because I actually quoted him as saying Frank, but as I was re-watching and typing up my notes I was like, why doesn't that sound right? So I went back and looked it up, 'cause I'm anal thorough like that. *g*

Oh, I like that. Along with your comment elsewhere that he's confusing infatuation with love.

Yeah, I was wonder just what exactly Charlotte was gonna do while Vin was off being wild and woolly. Did she just expect to go with him everywhere, sit home alone while he's off doing whatever... And what was Vin gonna do? Join some other gang in Brazil?!!

Or, even if they stayed in the states and went to California or somewhere, I just don't see how they were going to find any sort of life together.

But that's what infatuation does, makes you an idiot until the hormones wear off. Then you realize "Did I seriously make promises to *that* person?" and it's all just vaguely embarrassing. ::koff:: At least in my experience. ::koff::

Nevermind.

I'm working on a theory that started in my brain while I was watching (and I haven't read all the comments yet, so I don't know if it's already been discussed) but I could sort of see Chris as being very protective of Mary - in the sense that she's a part of the town he protects, and she's his friend.....and he doesn't know this guy from spit, so the most expedient way to get the guy's attention and let him know that Chris is keeping an eye on things is to let the guy believe they are competing for Mary's attentions.

I mean, Chris looked more amused than anything when he saw them kissing. He just didn't look jealous.

Oh, I like this theory!! You are *so* smart, Miss Sassy. Because yeah, he looked a little...envious of the *family* but not jealous of Mary with Gerard at all. And I can see that he would feel protective of her, as a friend.

I still think there's also a little bit of competitiveness there too. :D

Oh! Me too. How Charlotte didn't melt in a little puddle at his feet right then is beyond me. I guess her drinking out of the same canteen was about as far as they could go on prime-time TV (and, you know, as I really don't want to see Vin/Charlotte, I'm kind of glad about that), but gah... Vin was *so* sexy in that moment.

I liked her then drinking out of the same canteen, that was very...sexy, oddly.

And yeah, about as much of Vin/Charlotte as I want to see

I think she did melt, just a little bit, beneath all those layers she was wearing. She looked a bit flustered when she went to drink after him, which was kinda sexy all on its own.

But I agree, not wanting to see any Vin/Charlotte, that was quite enough for me. And I enjoyed envisioning someone else standing there, the recipient of all that heat. *g*

Yeah, it was kinda. :D

Yeah, it's the imagining someone else standing there that's the finest part though. :D
