australia and guilt

- i only had to go to half of chem today, which by itself is wonderful.
- eighth period, bridget and i skipped out on the first day of "human sexuality" in health class (honestly, what are they going to tell us that's new information at this point?) to go to nick's house with nick and mike, but got back to school pretty late.  so we headed to the only teacher willing to hand out random passes: madame sommers.  we ended up having a nice conversation with her about college and stuff (bridget, mike, and i decided we all have to study abroad in australia the same semester--we'll rope jill into it, too, since she's mentioned australia).
- i went to ms. woods' room ninth period with nick and lisa to make up the gov test, and for about half the time we were there, nadramia and woods chatted.  it was amusing to hear them talk to each other, but i can't really put my finger on why that's funny.  when nick mentioned our "corner"--aka me, him, both mikes, bridget, kara, and matt martin--in eco last semester, all nadramia did was close his eyes, shake his head, and say, "ahhhh, your corner..."
-  blair's gallery was absolutely incredible.  the doll creeped me out, but the photos were beautiful.
- crashing the journalism room with nick to work on poetry month bookmarks led to computerized love letters (apparently, mr. hersh hates the microsoft word computer voice, so naturally lauren and lyndsay feel the need to make the computer recite love letters to him, i.e. "MY CD-ROM DRIVE OPENS FOR YOU.  YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE.") and post-it-ing hersh's car until my hands were too cold to write anymore.  i'm sure he likes the new racing stripe on his car and the randomly placed messages such as, "how's my driving? *call me!*" and "<3 jeffy".
- math fun night was cool in that i got to see a bunch of people from west, but horrible in that i ended up having to be "the prize girl".  (contrary to ashok and jess's belief, this does not mean i am a prize that can be won with the 4, 5, or 6 tickets they brought me; it means i ran the prize booth.)  i had to try and set fair "prices" for the bouncy balls and mini poppers and monkey finger puppets, but i still managed to run out.  by the end i felt so guilty because i had to turn people away who didn't have enough tickets so we wouldn't run out of stuff early, and when i finally did run out of prizes, i heard a mother say to her kid, "ohh, you did all this work for nothing!"  grr.  i felt so bad.
- alison drove me home to the sounds of dispatch.

journalism, math fun night
