Today, I encouraged the children to, "run up to that rock, tag it, and run back." That rock was some guy, in grey shorts, sleeping. They came back yelling, "that's a butt!" but I didn't understand at first. I spent way more time ogling that guy's buttcrack than it deserved.

He does this a lot but it's even funnier when you hear it from two rooms away:

Gabe: Chai! Let's sneak out!
Danny: You know I can hear you, right?!

Chai dropped the ps3 remote, and a car alarm went off outside. I looked angry and exclaimed, "Malachai, what did you DO?" He froze and made the most dismayed face D-: like literally, his mouth was turned down and hanging open. I let him stew for a few seconds before I couldn't hold back a snicker.

C: Hi, mama.

Hi, Chai. Hey, it was so nice of you to come sleep with me last night.

C: You're welcome.

Yeah, it was cold and you were nice and warm, and I stole your blanket.

C: What???

Chai: Mom says I look hull-air-e-us in my underwear.
Gabe:...calculator?
Chai: No. Mom says I look hilarious in my underwear.
Gabe: what's in your underwear?
Chai says no, repeats.
Then they both moon me to see if that's funny.

My little geek baby Gabe just pretended to "get on the internet" at school. At least he stopped writing that honey badger video before school started. I have a good text relationship with his teacher.

Chai's first day of preschool was yesterday. The school is so cute! It's bright and colorful and they have the nicest shaded yard to play in. The teacher is an older, happy woman. Chai practically waved me away when I said Gabe & I were leaving, he was so happy to be there. Gabe was also bubbly, talkative and got in great imaginative play. He ( Read more... )
