Gracie update
Got home from the wedding today. As soon as I walked in the door, my puppy got up to see me. She has a large swollen area distending from her right abdomen.
From The Dog Owner's Home Veterinary Manual:
"Early signs of congestive heart failure may include rapid breathing, loss of appetite, fatigue, abdominal swelling, and marked loss of appetite."
Check, check, and check.
We got her to eat can food yesterday and today, so hopefully we can stave off the weight loss. The only problem is, I know the canned food and gravy we bought her is high in sodium, which may complicate the fluid retention. I should probably pick up a few cans of h/d today.
She goes for an EKG tomorrow morning.
I can't stop crying.
