I have first episodes of several new or recent series, and Castle is one of them.
I actually already knew about this before it was aired. Plot had already got me interested. But I wasn't sure when it will be aired so I wasn't able to check it out as soon as it did ^^;
Lately, I found out that there are already around 7 episodes of it, so I checked out the first episode:
Castle is a 1 hour witty drama based on a famous crime and horror novelist who helps the NYPD homicide department solve crimes.
Richard “Rick” Castle [Nathan Fillion], a rock star of the literary world, is suffering from a case of writers block after killing off the main character in his novels and is struggling to come up with a replacement.
Castle had grown weary of having it all, “fame, fans and females”, when he was approached by the attractive Detective Kate Beckett [Stana Katic] of the NYPD to help catch the copy-cat killer staging murders based on scenes from his novels.
Castle is not a traditional investigator and his approach to solving the crimes conflicts with Beckett’s conservative approach leading to much tension and a hint of romance.
Keeping Castle grounded are his mother [Susan Sullivan], teenage daughter Alexis [Molly C. Quinn], poker playing friends James Patterson, Sue Grafton, and Stephen King and his ex wife Gina [Monet Mazur] who is also his editor.

Castle TV Crime, mystery, and horror are some of my top favorite genres in a tv series and in novels. But even with similar genres, a reader's point of view is still different from a watcher's point of view. A novel lover's way of thinking is still different to a show lover's way of thinking. I am enjoying the crime stuff happening in the show, but at the same time I can so relate to how the writer sees these things.
You killed off a famous character?!
There's always a story.
That's it?
Where's the twist? I am most amused that the main characters poker buddies are real authors xD Haha! I haven't read a Sue Grafton novel, but Stephen King and James Patterson rock! Haha! And I like it that even though there's competition and rivalry, authors help each other out. Rick Castle is such a fantastic character. He makes my love for authors grow more. Who says only actors and singers are the only celebrities?! Authors are epic awesome as well xD
Aside from Castle, I also like Beckett. Her and Castle are a fun combination. Castle's mom and daughter are as fun as him. I especially love those father and daughter moments.
Alexis: Hello father!
Castle: Hello daughter!
*the crack duo hug each other*I also love it that Beckett's boss enjoys making her suffer in a comical way xD Her co-workers seem fun too! Hahaha!
This series is so entertaining. I honestly don't care much about the romance (though I admit the Castle x Beckett look cute), but I totally love the comedy and the awesomeness xD YES I AM SO HOOKED xD I'm putting this next to Supernatural on my list of tv series priorities xD Ohohohoho!
