First A&L lecture of the season last night, Jonathan Safran Foer. Very reflective, expressive, and also very witty. Got a few Palin jabs in at the beginning -- in her honor, he would base his talk on "How to Answer Easy Questions" (or something to that effect). The second questioner during the Q&A asked the Supreme Court question (yes, that one, and worded, as far as I could hear, in the same way). The question itself got a laugh, naturally, and then Foer nimbly responded, "Well, Bush V. Gore comes to mind..."
