Love Live!

...watched till ep12 now and have to say it's rather good so far.

and actually you can't call it a school idol anime, it's more like school life with a group of girls wanting to be idols but it's less about idols but more about them as a group... and these anime with the 'group of friends working hard towards a common goal' theme always appeal to me -.-

songs-wise it's not particularly good but not bad at all, singing doesnt hurt your ears, normal encouraging lyrics and average-nice catchy compositions.

i think there's another idol anime from the previous (one or two) season and it's also rather watch-ale, but i have to say the OP song was rather bad -w-;;; just imo. the AKB one, however, failed to get me to continue past the first few episodes...

And talking about these school life anime, i must mention TARI TARI from a few seasons back. Some people may find it bland or not appealing in particular. but it's a good school life anime, again a group of students striving for their goals in school together (a singing club independent from the choir club and also a badminton club = combined to have enough people 8D)

one element i love most about TARI TARI (besides the songs, which i like quite a lot) is that it doesn't say whether they sing well or not to be able to become a singing club, or to perform in the school festival, but that their determination allows them to do that. a lot of times animes have people being amazed by how talented the main chara actually is and as they get more recognition by ppl n with hard work they eventually 'defeated' the villain/oppressing authority and succeed in their goal or something, but in TARI TARI they never mentioned if they sang well (to my ears they're fine) but it's about their determination and their dealings with each other, the school, the community, etc and in the end, achieved their goal in a less than perfect way.

i don't do a good job in promoting animes do i. i knew it -w-; but if you have a chance and some time, this is another highly recommended anime, though there dont seem to be a lot of frds around me watching it.... but i found out it does have quite a following in japan. do give it a try.

Shinsekai yori

So it ended. needless to say another great series that lasted 20+ episodes with an appropriate ending. some say it's rushed but as a person who has not read the original i still think the anime was well executed. i believe i wont' mind reading the original novel... gotta look into it. from the content it doesn't look like a typical 'light novel' novel... i wonder if it's actually a 'serious novel' =w= dunno how to say.

Anyway. This is a must watch.

love live, shinsekai yori, tari tari, anime
