Chapter 9
Tatsuya was woken up by the sound of his cell phone ringing. Groaning, Tatsuya opened his eyes trying to look for the flashing light of his cell phone. It took a few tries but finally he was able to get the phone to his hand and dropping back on the soft mattress he answered the phone call.
“Hello?” he murmured eyes closed.
“Tatsuya,” Mika’s voice was slowly recognized by Tatsuya’s half-asleep brain. She sounded off, though. “Th-there was an accident,” Mika continued with a shaky voice.
Tatsuya was almost instantly wide awake, fear spreading from his heart all over his body.
“A-an accident?” Tatsuya repeated carefully.
“J-just… come to the hospital… please,” Mika pleaded. It was clear that the girl was crying and it only scared Tatsuya further.
“I’ll be there. Soon,” Tatsuya promised cutting the call while jumping off the bed to get to the hospital as fast as possible. Probably only three minutes later Tatsuya was outside getting into a taxi.
Fear. It made Tatsuya’s body shiver while sitting in the taxi on the way to the hospital. Mika had called him so it probably meant she was completely alright but… What about Ryo? Tatsuya knew that there were two reasons why Mika would call him in this situation. One, she needed Tatsuya, her best friend, by her side because she was scared. Or two, something had happened to Ryo. Or in this situation, both could have happened. The way to the hospital could not have been longer in that state of mind.
Once they were in front of the hospital, Tatsuya took pack of bills from his wallet and just gave them to the driver not caring how much he really was giving the other. Before the driver could say anything, Tatsuya was already running inside the hospital building.
He was given directions to the place where people were waiting for news of Cosmos members who had been hurt and Tatsuya hurried faster to get there as it seemed more than one was hurt. It scared Tatsuya.
“Mika!” Tatsuya called out the moment he spotted the girl. Mika turned her head towards him and stood up tears in her eyes to hurry into Tatsuya’s arms.
“Tat-chan,” Mika sniffed tightening her arms around Tatsuya.
“What happened?” Tatsuya asked patting Mika on the back while the girl sobbed. He was completely terrified to find out what had happened but at the same time he really needed to know to keep his sanity.
“The other van had an accident. It seems… it seems the driver lost control of the vehicle for some reason,” Yamapi who had stood up and walked up to them answered Tatsuya’s question. It was then that Tatsuya realized Yamapi was there too. He was relieved the drummer was alright.
“Junno? Ryo? Hiroki?” Tatsuya asked looking at both Mika and Yamapi. Mika had slowly stepped away from Tatsuya’s embrace while Yamapi had spoken.
The two nodded to answer Tatsuya who had tried to ask whether all the other members had been inside the other van.
“H-how are they?” Tatsuya asked thinking that the two could have already told everything to him and not keep him in the misery he was in.
“Junno only got some bruises and cuts, noting serious. He’s being observed just to be sure he didn’t get a concussion,” Mika told taking a deep breath to calm herself down.
“And R-Ryo?” Tatsuya gulped preparing himself to hear anything at all.
“He got numerous glass injuries to his back and he’s being stitched up. He’s alright, too,” Yamapi answered. It was probably the biggest possible relief for him. But… there was something about Mika and Yamapi’s expressions that got Tatsuya worried.
“And… what about Hiroki?” Tatusya managed to ask. That’s when Mika started to cry again. Yamapi took a hold of her shoulder and pulled her to his chest.
“He’s in surgery but… the doctors haven’t said anything. It’s really bad. Really... I… I don’t know if he’s going to make it,” Yamapi explained, fear clear on his face. He was terrified. And so was Mika.
“Hiroki…” Tatsuya breathed out the name getting afraid as well. Suddenly he remembered all those memories he had made with the other.
All three of them were quiet and just sat down on the hospital chairs to wait for further news of each of the Cosmos members who had been in the accident. It seemed that the driver of the van wasn’t in such a good shape either. They were told that he had had a heart attack which caused the accident in the first place.
Tatsuya could only follow the painful expressions of Hiroki’s parents. They were on private room and every single time a doctor passed them by, they lifted their heads up to see if it was someone who would come and finally tell them what was going on with their son.
“Doctor,” Mika suddenly jumped up from the chair and walked up to the doctor who was walking towards them.
“Taguchi-kun and Nishikido-kun have been moved to their private rooms. You may visit them if you’d like,” the doctor gave them a small smile, knowing the situation of the final member.
“Go. I’ll inform you immediately when we’ll find out more about Hiroki,” Yamapi nodded to Tatsuya and Mika. They didn’t hesitate and once the doctor gave them the room numbers, Mika headed to Junno while Tatsuya hurried to Ryo. He needed to see with his own eyes that the other was really alright.
Not thinking of anything else but that, Tatsuya hurried to Ryo’s room and opened the door to get to Ryo as quickly as possible.
“Tatsuya,” Ryo said surprised seeing Tatsuya in the doorway. He was lying on the hospital bed on his stomach, his back covered with a white bandage completely. There was also an IV-drop attached to his arm.
“Are you alright?” Tatsuya asked remembering just then how things had gone the last time the two of them had met. They were on a break and Ryo was mad at him. Did he even want Tatsuya there? He was suddenly feeling uncomfortable about being there.
“Aa. The morphine is starting to have an effect,” Ryo gave a small smile. “Come here. Please,” Ryo pleaded then. His eyes mirroring longing.
Tatsuya took slow steps towards the bed and slowly sat down on the chair next to Ryo.
“I want to tell you something,” Ryo told the older one. “Something I should have said long ago,” Ryo continued looking at Tatsuya with longing and something else Tatsuya could not recognize.
“O-ok,” Tatsuya nodded slightly scared of what Ryo would want to tell him. What if Ryo would tell him he was wrong in trying to force himself into liking Tatsuya? Tatsuya wasn’t sure if he really was ready to hear that. He had gotten the taste of Ryo and gotten addicted. The time they were apart, he was a mess and could only long for Ryo. Now if everything was to end…
“I love you.”
He didn’t even want to think about ending what they had had. He loved… Wait.
“W-what?” Tatsuya stuttered out after he realized from his busy thoughts what Ryo had actually said to him.
“I can’t understand why I was so stupid to not understand it before but… now I do. Something about that accident opened my eyes. The moment I realized what had happened, all I could think about was you. I really do love you, Tatsuya,” Ryo confessed reaching out to take Tatsuya’s hand in his.
“Are you sure?” Tatsuya asked lifting his eyes from their entwined hands to Ryo’s eyes.
“I guess I deserve that,” Ryo gave a small sad smile. “I am sure,” he assured then. Tatsuya felt guilty for questioning Ryo’s feelings but it was so hard for him to understand.
Tatsuya kept starting Ryo in the eyes not able to find words to describe what he was feeling. Seeing the love in Ryo’s eyes when the younger answered his gaze was such an amazing feeling. He could have sat there for hours just staring at the other.
A minute later Tatsuya leaned closer to Ryo and sealed their lips together pouring out everything he was feeling hoping Ryo would understand even part of it.
“Ryo, Tatsuy- oh,”
Tatsuya pulled quickly away from Ryo turning around to see Yamapi who had interrupted their moment.
“I um… Hiroki survived the surgery. He’s transferred to the ICU,” Yamapi coughed awkwardly not used to seeing two guys kissing although he had been aware of the relationship.
“He’s going to be alright?” Ryo asked sounding relieved.
“It’s not certain yet. Anything could happen,” Yamapi shook his head worry taking over his features once more. Tatsuya started to feel bad about feeling so good about Ryo’s confession while Hiroki was intensively fighting for his live in the very same building.
“Have you told Mika yet?” Tatsuya asked knowing how hard the situation was to Mika.
“Yeah, I… just came from there. Junno is taking care of her,” Yamapi sighed. “I’ll… go to Hiroki. I’ll keep you updated,” Yamapi promised leaving the room as quickly as he had entered.
The couple was left in silence in the hospital room. Tatsuya had turned towards Ryo again and lowered his head for a moment like he would have been collecting himself mentally. Ryo just stayed still, waiting for Tatsuya’s reaction.
“I don’t know what I would have done if something worse happened to you,” Tatsuya said lifting his head up to look Ryo in the eyes. He was frightened of the thought but revealed that it wasn’t the truth.
Hiroki clearly on his mind, Ryo couldn’t come up with anything appropriate to say so he only reached out for Tatsuya’s hand to give the older one a squeeze. He would have kissed Tatsuya on the forehead if he didn’t have to tug Tatsuya forward to be able to do so.
In the end Tatsuya himself leaned forward and kissed Ryo on the forehead instead.
“Thank you,” Tatsuya pulled away smiling gently.
“I’m not sure why you’re thanking me but… thank you,” Ryo lifted his hand to be able to caress Tatsuya’s head, although it became a rather awkward position.
Tatsuya wasn’t sure why Ryo was thanking him, either but he decided to not mind that and just enjoy the fact that he got his Ryo back and most likely their relationship would turn out to be a lot more than it had been before. That was, after all, all that really mattered.
Hiroki woke up for the first time four days after the accident. That’s the point where his recovery started slowly but surely. Junno was let out of the hospital the next day already but Ryo had to stay longer because of the amount of the wounds on his back. He was finally out after 26 days but Hiroki still had to stay to recover.
Tatsuya visited Ryo and Hiroki in the hospital every single day with the other Cosmos members. After Ryo was let out they visited Hiroki together but the rest of the free time they had, they spent together. Ryo took Tatsuya out on dates, trying to show Tatsuya how much he really loved the older one. Tatsuya could tell how hard Ryo tried not to jump him and tried his best to make their dates as romantic as possible.
It was needless to say that Ryo didn’t really success in not jumping Tatsuya but their dates actually managed to come to an end before Ryo would jump the older one and that already was a big change from before. Tatsuya found out that that was really all he had ever been asking for.
“Let’s move in together,” Ryo voiced out suddenly when they were still panting on the living room carpet after one of their sessions.
“What?” Tatsuya would have lifted himself up to stare at Ryo if he hadn’t been that exhausted. Instead he just turned his head towards Ryo.
“I want to come home to you every day after work,” Ryo explained turning on his side to be able to reach Tatsuya better. He ran his fingers on Tatsuya’s pale skin making Tatsuya shiver slightly in pleasure.
The look in Ryo’s eyes was so serious and spoke of such deep feelings that Tatsuya could only agree onto Ryo’s proportion without giving it any more thought, not that he would ever come to regret the decision he made.
A wide happy smile spread on Ryo’s face and he inched closer leaning over Tatsuya to seal their lips into a passionate kiss. Tatsuya was still feeling very sensitive and could only whimper while Ryo kept touching him all over.
While Ryo had been trying his best to show Tatsuya that he really did care for Tatsuya and didn’t only want his body, Tatsuya had come to realize that Ryo indeed loved him dearly but was just simply insatiable in bed.
He didn’t tell that to Ryo, though, because he really enjoyed the moments when Ryo tried his hardest not to jump him. Watching Ryo fight against the want was sometimes very hilarious and Tatsuya wanted to enjoy it in peace.
Despite his exhausted body, Tatsuya willed himself to give Ryo one more round with the condition that Ryo would take him to the bedroom. The younger one complied and soon enough Tatsuya found himself lying on the soft mattress, Ryo once again all over him.
Tatsuya could only moan while scratching Ryo’s back with his fingers and tugging painfully on Ryo’s hair when the younger penetrated him once again. His exhausted body still felt the pleasure but Tatsuya knew he would not survive any more rounds after that so he tugged harder on Ryo’s hair while trying to hold on to Ryo’s back with his other hand, knowing that it for some reason turned Ryo on even more.
“How can you be this tight every single time?” Ryo gritted through his teeth more sweat forming on his forehead. Tatsuya couldn’t even think of answering as Ryo started moving. His moans only got louder when Ryo found his spot and speeded up.
Tatsuya almost passed out from the orgasm he got and only barely realized Ryo had come over the edge and was lying on top of him few seconds after.

“I love you so much,” Ryo said those words again. Tatsuya was too tired to answer but he smiled hearing them not able to fight the sleep any longer. The smile remained on his face and made Ryo smile as well when the younger one pulled himself off from Tatsuya to lie down next to him.
