1. Do you have a college degree?Yes. I have a stupid, useless college degree which my dear old daddy paid for in full. I wish I could have that money now! I'd do something usefull with it. I majored in religious studies with an emphasis on Eastern religions. I attended U of Vermont, Community College, International University in San Diego, and ( Read more... )

You know, not everyone is cut out to be a stay at home Mom. You shouldn't let this patriarchal society dictate to you what you should want to do with your life and then allow yourself to feel guilty. First, it's normal to feel some kind of resentment at staying at home and feeling deprived or isolated. It isn't easy being a full-time stay at home mom. But it could be that you're just human and the grass is always greener on the other side. I used to feel like I was sorta worthless in the eyes of the career women for being "just a stay at home Mom". I am mad at myself for allowing myself to feel crappy because I wasn't a "career woman" - what a bunch of propaganda! Now that my kids are out of the nest I look back on it and wish I could have it back (it's been 10 yrs.). It was much more emotionally satisfying. I'm getting ready to graduate from college (late bloomer)and I feel good about that. I liked learning, I liked setting goals for myself and achieving them. Getting a 4.0 made me feel good, why shouldn't it?? I was an advertising rep for years and was successful but it was very shallow compared to how I feel about being a good mother. There's no reason why you can't have it all, you know. There are alot of things you could do while being at home. There are a ton of women out there who stay at home with children and have a cottage industry going on. You should write, your're funny! It all boils down to what do you want to do with your life?? Your kids will not be kids for very long, it is a very short window, believe me. I think you are great! Alot of what you said rang true with me. Wish I had some cool women like you in my neighborhood. It's hard making friends with people you feel on the same wavelenght with. Good luck to you!
