Top 10 Java Junkies Moments... and a Fandom Meme

There was one more list request - for my top Lorelai/Luke moments, and since I'd been meaning to do a list of that sort, I figured I'd extend it into a top 10. Even so, narrowing it down was pretty tricky...:

My Top 10 Luke/Lorelai Moments

10. The card game in "Double Date." Cute exchange about how she'll find "that first date feeling" again someday, followed by an attempt by Luke at asking Lorelai out (which is, unfortunately, interrupted by Mrs. Kim). He does, however, clearly recognizes what she brings to a relationship - the ability to get things from the top shelf.

9. Pretending to be married in "Lost and Found." They do that coupley thing oh-so-well, don't they? And there's nothing funner that watching Luke turn many shades of red...

8. Lorelai's dream in "Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days"- that her and Luke are married, with babies on the way. I usually stear away from dream sequences with these sorts of lists, but I think that the fact that she was having the dream in the first place says a lot.

7. Lorelai sings "I Will Always Love You" in  "Lorelai? Lorelai?".  When Luke enters, the feeling of the scene completely changes, and all of a sudden, every word she sings becomes that much more meaningful.

6. Painting at Luke's in "That Damn Donna Reed." Crawling around on the floor together, hiding from Taylor, and heartfelt conversion. Oh, and, hello, they totally almost kiss!

5. Their "date" in "A Tisket, A Tasket". After Luke successfully bids on Lorelai's basket, the two enjoy a lunch together and, as always, plenty of sexual tension. As Luke says to her, so simply, and yet so sincerely: "This is nice."

4. The final scene in "Forgiveness and Stuff." As XTC's "Thanks for Christmas" plays softly in the background, Lorelai gives her Christmas gift to Luke, and then they playfully revisit their "you look good" joke. This entire episode is brimming with the possibility that is early-season Luke/Lorelai.

3. Their big finale kiss in "Bon Voyage" - a perfect end to their seven-year story together. It's their last on-screen kiss of the series, but the intensity of the moment somehow instills the viewers with a confidence that, this time, it's gonna be for good.

2. The waltz in "Last Week's Fights, This Week's Tights." This was the moment when I realized - it's actually happening. The scene plays like the beginning of a sweet courtship, with Luke finally taking charge of what he wanted. The look in their eyes during the waltz spoke volumes - there was no going back now.

1. Luke and Lorelai's first kiss, in "Raincoats and Recipes" - THE moment we'd been waiting for since the very beginning. Four years in the making - and it did not disappoint.
