Crossover fics!

Feb 11, 2010 18:02

First things first - THANK YOU Bitchin' Buddy for my vgift! *twirls you senseless* The world really Needs Moar Cowbell, it is TRUE. :-D

And for today's recs, I was thinking about just how much I LOVE the way that fandom is fond of mixing two or more fandoms into one fic. We do it because of the pretty, we do it because of world building or just because it makes us happy. So I decided to bring you a list of some het, gen and femslash crossover fics I loved! (I also have a few more crossover recs here that would fit nicely into this set.) For 14valentines Day 11: Economics and Work.

Kick and Slide by
lastwingedthing (Generation Kill/Battlestar Galactica, Brad Colbert/Kara Thrace, NC-17)
It’s been almost nine months since full integration, but not much has changed. Not in the kind of places Brad usually finds himself, places like this run-down craphole of an Oceanside bar. Sure, there’s new tech, new threats, new strategies for dealing with them both; the corps has never changed so much so fast before. But that’s the thing. Politicians are talking out their asses, mouthing empty reassurances or screaming about the end of the world; pussy suburbanites are circle-jerking with their liberal latte-sipping friends about the sudden obsolescence of their fuel-efficient hybrids or running to church to cry to the big bad daddy in the sky.

I Was Abducted By Aliens by belmanoir (Twitch City/X-Files, Hope/Krycek, Hope/Curtis, R)
She surreptitiously patted down her hair. "Which episode?" she asked Curtis.

He glanced at her. "I Was Abducted By Aliens."

"The probe was the most painful experience of my life," the guest said. "I thought nothing could be worse than giving birth to twins, but boy was I wrong!" The audience laughed appreciatively. Curtis's expression didn't change, but the new roommate snickered.

I'm Not Ifrit of the Dark by oxoniensis (Supernatural/Gilmore Girls, AU, gen, PG-13)
"Hi, Rory," Luke says without turning around.

"It's freaky, the way you do that," she replies, perching on a stool at the counter. Lane sits down beside her.

"You've got your Slayer powers, I have my Watcher powers," Luke replies. He puts a large blue and white spotted mug of coffee in front of Rory, and raises an eyebrow in question at Lane.

You're It by lordessrenegade (Bandom/Heroes, gen, G)
Playing hide and seek with Molly was utterly unfair.

I found you, Uncle Jon! she'd yell within seconds every time, squeezing herself into whatever tiny space he'd found for hiding and throwing her arms around his neck. You can't hide from me!

She was right. He never could.

Story of Seasons by raedbard (West Wing/Buffy, CJ/Tara, PG)
When it is snowing, Tara writes to her in the condensation which mists up the windows. It is always cold in Boston, or it seems so to her. She sees sunlight, high and cold, in the clean swipes her fingers make on the glass. She writes CJ letters which dissolve into water, letters easily lost, letters silent, gone.

First Kiss ficlets by minnow1212 (Veronica Mars/Stargate: Atlantis, Keith/Teyla, PG and Firefly/Buffy, Mal/Faith, PG)
She watches him approach with that bright smile and that same bit of reserve that he’s noted in her interactions with other people. (In general, Keith approves of reserve; caution is a quality he was glad to inculcate in Veronica.) "Hello," he says. "I’m Keith Mars. Would you care to dance?"

if you can see where you're going by
isis (Wilby Wonderful/Due South, Buddy/Frannie, PG)
Fraser was probably right about Huey and Dewey. As far as Vecchio and Stella go, I don't know and I don't care. But Frannie, she wanted more than just babies. She wanted Fraser, but for reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, that wasn't going to work out. He liked her, and he wanted her to be happy - he hoped she would be happy - so he invented this story about her, something that he thought would be all about Happy Francesca. But maybe that ain't what really happened.

Three Hours to Sunrise and Eight Hours to Midnight by hjcallipygian (Veronica Mars/Buffy, gen, PG)

The dark-haired girl is Faith. She has a split lip, a cut above her left eye that looks about a week old, and gives Wallace the most blatant once-over he's ever received. She calls him "Junior," and grilles him about abandoned warehouses, old crackhouses, ghettos, timeshares on the beach, and anywhere else he thinks someone could wait out the day without being noticed.

Luckily, one learns these things if one is friends with Veronica Mars for long enough. They climb onto the back of her motorcycle and head off to the closest place.

Are You Sweet On Your Sister by minervacat (Battlestar Galactica/Stargate: SG-1, Starbuck/Vala, NC-17)
"Hello," the woman said. "Where am I?"

Kara was off her bunk, looking for her sidearm while the dark-haired woman stared at her. When Kara found the gun - under the pants she had dropped on the floor before she crawled into her bunk not even a frakking hour ago - the dark-haired woman said, "Are you going to shoot me?"

"Not if you're not a frakking toaster," Kara said.

"Oh, I'm not a toaster," the woman said firmly. "Toasters are small white or silver objects, that cook bread. Daniel was quite upset when I broke the one in the commissary specifically for bagels."

Beyond the Invisible by lunarknightz (Dr. Who/Heroes, Rose/Claude, PG)
Claude couldn’t remember when the last time someone had looked at him like that. The blonde had stared at him- not with revulsion, or hate, but like she knew him.

And he definitely didn’t know her. A face like that? He’d remember a face like that.

You can come and talk to me at Dreamwidth too!
