Every few months I re-experience the joys of test taking when one of my cousins forwards me links to free online IQ tests because he is addicted to online testing. I am curious too, though I know IQs are to be discredited when they measure reasoning ability with multiple-choice answers; and I do not forget the biases from this test originated from the supposedly well-intentioned creator. All the academic arguments aside, whenever I take these tests is boosts my ego because I happen to be extraordinarily gifted when it comes to selecting between A, B, C, and D and/or True and False. Then, there are questions like "All Zorgs are Zerks, some Zerks are Zings, and most Zings are Zonks. What else can be said about Zonks and Zorgs?" Um, total brain freeze?! You are not supposed to make such broad generalizations without further investigation, so said all the "critical thinking" skills drilled into me since the dawn of my education. Hmm, perhaps this explains why I did better with humanities than the logic of mathematics and science. Whatever, I prefer to gloat over getting into the "mildly gifted" on the Old Fashioned Test though that giftiness must be in complaining and procrastinating.
