Devon likes cats. He likes to crawl across the living room floor and meow, and his favorite thing to do is curl into Walt or Ray - or Brad’s - side and make impossibly adorable faces and sounds when they pet his hair. His favorite stuffed animal is a fuzzy tiger that he likes to chew the tail of.
Anyways, Devon learns to walk chasing Toshiba.
Everyone is a little scared at Devon’s fascination with her at first, because she’s a nasty little beast unless Brad is involved. Devon can never catch Toshiba though, and he remains the only one of them who hasn’t been bit by her.
Walt loves Brad and Nate, he really does, but he has no doubts he would kill their cat if she ever laid a paw on Devon.
Still, it’s why it doesn’t come as a surprise that after Walt and Ray bring Sunshine home that Devon spends the entire afternoon stalking the kitten around the living room.
Sunshine mewls pathetically whenever Devon makes grabby hands for him, but the minute he’s captured in Devon’s small arms, Sunshine just gives up and stares pathetically at the world at large. He hates the way he’s carried, hates Devon’s sticky fingers and wet kisses to the top of his head, but Sunshine never puts up a fight.
Sunshine is pretty much the most adorable thing on the planet, after Devon himself. Even Ray and Brad and Nate will grudgingly agree. Walt’s not just being biased because this is his flesh and blood, his son is honestly too cute for words.
Add the fact Devon totters after Ray and Walt, Sunshine clutched to his chest as Devon tries not to drop him and mewling occasionally?
Walt’s heart melts every single time.
