Destination is Batesville. (And I just realized, I think our receptionist booked the wrong hotel... We need to fix that.)
I don't wanna go.
There, my whine's out of the way.
I was in a rush this morning, trying to tie up lose ends and make it up to Smyrna on time so I could leave my car at my parents' house and hitch a ride to work with dad.
I always feel like I'm forgetting something...
I had to haul ass to the store yesterday to grab a new suit; (tomorrow is dress up day at our destination; we're sitting in on a class, so we need to attire appropriately).
Let me reiterate how much I fucking hate business attire. How fucking uncomfortable I find it. In part, because women's button down shirts are done in a most idiotic fashion.
No button over the center of the bust? Why? That's where it gapes (particularly if you're anything above a B cup). Which is why you end up having to wear a camisole underneath your shirt...which makes the shirt cling more. Top it with the jacket and I feel like I should be sitting in an asylum, as bound as I feel.
Business attire is idiotic. (I could make a class/status argument here too, considering how much new suits run. Also, if you have any weight fluctuations at all...you're going to be running out to get yet another one.)
There's no fucking reason for it.
Seriously.
If everyone just dressed casually, what would be the problem?
Fuck you corporate drones.
There....I feel somewhat better.
At least the suit I got was on sale. Particularly since I mostly got it for the jacket...I have my own dress pants to pair it with. Suit pants are also idiotic because they don't come in low rise. They sit right on your navel, or just above it, and no matter how well they fit, they cut into your skin when you sit down...or, you know, move.
Obviously, I've been spoiled. My office attire usually consists of comfortable shoes, jeans, and whatever shirts I have that are semi-business casual.
I do need a couple more button down shirts...I need to take a trip to some other mall stores in the next month or two and replenish.
But, enough about clothes.
Leaving today. Should be back Thursday, if all goes accordingly. (There's always the possibility we'll have to sit through to Friday.)
Wednesday looks like it's going to be a long ass day if we sit in on everything on the itinerary. With meals included, the day runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Yuck.
Thursday should be better...I hope.
I think I'm going to stop typing while I'm ahead. I could have a complete and total bitch-fest right now about clothes (corporate and not-so-corporate) and work and my general mood...and frankly, that's just too draining to get into.
So, I'm off to finish my allotted cup of coffee, tweak a document or two, and get my crap together...
life,
clothing,
work
