For those of you that don't know me off of journal land. Things have changed for the better ... finally.

Today I start my first 2nd shift, a 4-10 shift today, 3-10 for the next three days, then two days off. Much lighter work, much more intelligent people, and this means my promotion is coming for assistant manager which will make the job worth it (10.75 per hour, an extra week of vacation, and the profit-sharing kicks in). I also now have my new laptop which is everything I could have wished for and more. The keyboard floats effortlessly under my fingertips, the screen is bright and large enough for me to see without straining, it's fast, and it's the first new thing that has been bought for me (tech wise) in about two or three years. It's also the first big thing that has been bought for me in two years that I haven't payed for 100% myself. It is definitely a nice computer I will be happy with for a while.

At least now, working day shift my sleep and wake schedule will regulate.

-Wake up every Day at 8am
- Shower, eat breakfast, etc.
- Talk to Diego til he has to go
- Go out to a NICE lunch instead of having to eat 7-Eleven processed crap.
- Get out of work at 10pm, when all the clubs are ramping up, get to have a nightlife if I wish it.
- go to bed by 1am, which is late enough to indulge my night owl a bit, hang out with my friends who work nights.

And the seller
- Not only is it a LOT less work that will kill me (no more freight trucks, no more inventory to stock if not that a lot less) the most I have to do is order all the drinks in the store twice a week - which I must say, is very do-able.

Boss Lady transferred her day shift assistant, because he was a flake. And now I'm going to be training to take it over. It will be happening after race week. She's promised me. And I've never known this woman to break a promise to anyone.

I'm very cautiously optimistic that my place in the world is looking a little brighter.

Ares, Aphrodite ... thank you. Thank you for giving me some hope again.
