(no subject)
So, half the office got stuck in the elevator for TWO HOURS today. I am so glad I was in a meeting when they all decided to go to lunch.
Right before they finally got out, the doors got pried open and they had doughnuts and water passed up in there. Charles came into the main office area to relate what was going on to the rest of us, who were so amused terribly concerned with the plight of our co-workers. Charles: So yeah, there was only a gap about this big *gestures about a foot and a half tall*, so we didn't let them climb out of the elevator, because if they had, and the elevator had started, this would have been bad.
Liz: Oh! Like that chick in the first Resident Evil movie! She got sheered in half and it was COOL!
*everyone stares at her*
Liz: ...well, I mean, it's only cool in the movies, it would suck in real life.
Pat: Liz, maybe we should talk about this. I mean, I know you've been trained on the entire "what to say around normal people" thing like most people who play MMOs and LARPs... I mean, I've even gotten that training... but we all knew that you meant that it would be cool, and the entire "would suck in real life" was just an afterthought.
Liz: Not really. I actually like those guys, so it would suck. Otherwise...
Pat: THAT'S what I thought.
It's been an interesting morning. I just wish the damned fire alarm would quit going off.
