Title: Drunken Truth
Author: sango houshi
genre: fluff, angst, ...?
pairing: yoosu and sungmin making appearance

this is a oneshot. wrote it in one day and i was rushing to post it cuz of my stupid sister (its almost midnight here, so i had to hurry) so im sorry if the ending is crappy.
and yes, this is inspired by yoochun's rendition of drunken truth, though hopefully not as sad.

Yoochun was drunk. He knew this because that had been his goal for the night and he didnt remember anything after getting to the bar. It was all hazy but the one thing he'd gone to forget was still persistent in not leaving his mind. He could still clearly see the angelic face of his best friend, even though everything else around him was a swirl of colors and noise. He got up unsteadily and waved goodbye to the bartender. Sungmin was a friend of many years, who, thankfully had been keeping an eye on him all night, knowing exactly why Yoochun was there.

Stepping up to help his inebriated friend to stop a cab, Sungmin stumbled with the added weight as he all but dragged Yoochun outside.

"I'm fine." Yoochun slurred and hiccuped, but still managed not to fall flat on his face, mostly because of Sungmin's support, and the shorter man let him outside where the cool autumn breeze helped clear his senses a little.

"I'm going to do it tonight, Min." He said with confidence.
Sungmin hummed, a little sadly.

"Ok, Chun." Sungmin had heard the same thing mltiple times over the years but Yoochun never actualy got the courage to tell his best friend- his male best friend- of over ten years that he had been in love with him from the moment they'd met. He hadn't had the courage to speak his heart in ten years, Sungmin doubted Yoochun would ever tell, and instead would continue hurting in silence while Junsu remained oblivious to Yoochun's affections. Sungmin helped Yoochun into the cab and told the driver Yoochun's address.

But this time it was different, and he finally got the kick he deserved in the form of liquid courage as well as a good dose of fear to make him say the dumbest thing that had come from his mouth since two minutes ago.

Before Sungmin finihed telling Yoochun's address, the taller of the two stopped him.

"No!" He exclaimed oudy shocking Sungmin and the driver.

"I want to go to Junsu's house. I need to tell him." He tried to focus on Sungmin, but didnt know which of the two was the real one. He closed his eyes tightly, willing the dizzyness away and taking deep breaths to calm his stomach. His heart was pounding just at the mention of tconfessing to Junsu, a million butterflies wrecking havoc on his already upset stomach, courtesy of Jack Daniels and no real food.

Sungmin sighed.

"Yoochunnie, I think it's best you go home. You're not thinking rationally right now. Wait until you're sober to decide if you're really going to tell him. You yourself said that you didn't want to jeopardize your friendship." Sungmin, voice of reason, rationalized.

But Yoochun couldn't continue like this. He was in love with his best friend, the man he'd loved since he was 15. The one he'd shared all his joy and tears with. The one who unknowingly broke his heart everytime he fell in love with someone who wasnt Yoochun, only to end up crying on his shoulder after getting his heart broken. Junsu was too fragile, too trusting, always wearing his heart on his sleeve and his emotions on his face. He wasnt a very good poker player, he thought with a slight smile. His eyes became cloudly with all the memories-everything Junsu, and he felt his heart constrict in his chest. He couldn't lose him.

"I have to tel him Sungminnie. He's leaving after tomorrow. He'll be out of my life. Maybe not forever, but I need him to know. Maybe he'll come back to me if he feels the same way." The desperate hope he was holding on to was breaking Sungmin's heart. He knew the raven haired man deserved happiness, but what if Junsu rejected him? What if he never returned to Yoochun's side because confessing ruined their friendship?

"Is telling him worth losing him?" Sungmin dared to ask. Though his voice was quiet and hesitant, Yoochun heard him.

"He's worth everything. And if he doesnt return... then I hope he'll be happy wherever he is..."

The determined look couldnt hide the sadness and fear at the thought of losing Junsu forever.

"Good luck." Sungmin said closing the door and stepping back. He really hoped Junsu returned Yoochun's feelings. Yoochun deserved to be happy with the one he loved.

Yoochun was alot more sober when he reached Junsu's house. He stood in front of the door, not even realizing how late it was as he knocked on the door, not giving himself time to chicken out. The doorbell rang and he waited. Nothing. He rang again. It was only on the third ring that the door opened and a disheveled Junsu stepped out, his pyjama pants riding low on his hips, a wife beater higging his torso, arms accentuated by toned muscle. Yoochun forgot everything as his mouth went dry at the sexy bedhead and full lips that were now pouting at him.

"Yah Yoochun! Why are you here so late?! It's almost 3am!" Junsu's high pitched voice pierced the empty street and Yoochun's muddled brain and before he could react properly the words stumbled out of his mouth like erbal diahrea before he could stop himself.

"I love you."

Junsu's eyed widened comically and his mouth gaped like a sigh out of water. But Yoochun didnt give him a chance to speak.

"I know I'm a little drunk right now, but I need you to know that I love you beacuse I wont have the courage to tell you when I'm sober. I love you. I've loved you since I was 15. I hope you'll forgive me for not telling you sooner, but now, with you leaveing, I know I'm going to lose you anyway so you might as well know. I love you. And it wont matter if you reject me because I hope I dont remember tomorrow. And if I do, I'll drink myself to amnesia if I have to because I wouldnt be able to accept the face that you dont want me-or worse, that telling you this makes you hate me."

He looked deep into Junsu's still wide eyes that were now filling with tears. Somehow that didnt register with Yoochun. He wanted to continue but the words were stuck in his throat. Pausing to catch his breath made him realize everything he had said and his own eyes widened in horror. Because yes he had just said that outloud and no he wasnt dreaming. He staggered a step back, fear quite evident in his face-fear of rejection, fear of losing Junsu as a friend for good, fear of never beaing able to see the man he loved, even if it was just being at his side, silently loving him-it would've been better than this train wreck.

"I'm sorry." He choked out before he turned to go but he hadnt gone two steps when Junsu stopped him.

"Why are you telling me this now?!" Junsu's voice sounded angry and hurt. Turning around to look at his face took alot of effort on Yoochun's part and he was shocked to see the look of hurt and betrayal written all over his friend's face. Yoochun had laid his heart on the line, but Junsu's own was a confusing mess to his brain. He knew he loved Yoochun, but was it more than just the love for a best friend or a brother?

It took Yoochun a beat before he could answer, confused.

"I told you. You're leaving. After losing you there will be nothing left to lose. But..."

He took a few steps closer stepping in front of Junsu. the younger was forced to look up at the height difference his proximity caused and his own heartbeat and breathing were coming faster. He could smell the alcohol on Yoochun's breath, the musk of his perfume.
Had Yoochun always smelled this good?

"I don't want to lose you. I know you're leaving to better your career and I'm really happy for you. I was just hoping that knowing that you had someone waiting for you here would be enough to bring you back to me."

He stepped closer still, less than a handspan away and began to lean in slowly, giving Junsu more than enough time to push him away. Both men were shocked when their lips touched. Yoochun's sharp intake of breath and Junsu's breathy whimper broke the tension in their bodies and immediately Yoochun had Junsu pressed against the door, arms wrapped around Junsu's waist as Junsu's arms wrapped tightly around Yoochun's neck, moaning into the ardent kiss as his skin began to burn with the growing fire in his veins.

They broke apart for air but just as quickly Junsu caught Yoochun's lips again, never wanting the contact to end as he felt how amazingly soft the taller man's lips were, how intoxicating his taste, how amazing his kisses. He could taste the alcohol in Yoochun's mouth and another taste that was purely Yoochun.

They broke again and thi stime laid their foreheads against each other, their breaths mingling, Yoochun stealing tiny peck every few moments as their hearts continued to race at the sensation. Junsu could see all the love written on his best friend's face. His heart beat erratically, filling with joy he'd never felt before and he knew he'd made the right choice in confessing to Junsu.

Junsu felt as though his heart would burst with joy and his stomach fluttered and he wondered why they had waited so long to do this. But he knew that he'd be returning as soon as possible back home, knowing that the love of his life was waiting for him.

"I love you too." He said with a smile.

Yoochun couldn't wait to tell Sungmin.
