AN: ok, so i couldnt leave you with that suspense so im uploading another chapter. not the ending yet... that you'll have to wait for.
also i'll edit my entries so that the beginning and ending of every story has links to the archive, so you wont have to keep scrolling down and back to posts. ^_^
but that wont happen now, cuz theres still one more chapter to go. lol

chapter 4
Aki had been worried sick about Hitsugi. It had been three days and the redhead was still avoiding his phone calls. He’d thought about going to see the guitarist in person, but he knew Hitsugi wouldn’t be in. he needed to do something and fast.
Luckily, he had a guardian angel on his side because he received a text message from Ni~ya. Nightmare’s bassist let him know that he thought Hitsugi was an idiot and said idiot was at his place and Aki should get there as soon as possible. Getting his keys Aki left his house immediately after and made his way as fast as he could to Ni~ya’s place.
He found Ni~ya’s door slightly open and was about to call out when he heard voices. His vocal cords clamped up when he heard Ni~ya say,
“That’s why you kicked Zannin’s ass all those years ago.”
The conversation that followed left him breathless-he felt like a press was squeezing the air from his lungs. He kept zoning in and out of the conversation, unable to believe his ears.
“And I think, subconsciously, Aki knows he belongs to you”….
“But that’s all I am to him.”
“But you want to be more!” Ni~ya’s yell snapped Aki back to the present and he gasped in a much needed breath of air. Oh god, this was really happening, he hadn’t been hallucinating the conversation.
“Listen here, Hitsugi.” Ni~ya started again in a more calm tone “Aki loves you.”
Aki’s heart froze. What…how did he know? Aki himself had just figured it out recently. Why’d it take him ten years to figure it out, he didn’t know, but he did know that he loved Hitsugi-had always loved him, and always would.
But with the way Hitsugi had acted around him, only to leave without a word, Aki was sure Hitsugi didn’t return his sentiments.
Until Hitsugi spoke again, his voice so sad it broke Aki’s heart.
“He loves me, but hes not in love with me. Not like I’m in love with him.”
And before he could check himself, the words were out of his mouth and he was standing in the kitchen doorway, looking at Hitsugi’s back.
He saw Hitsugi’s back stiffen like a board, his whole body growing tense before he finally turned to face Aki, looking like a man facing a death sentence.
“Say it again.” Aki whispered-he wasn’t sure he had a voice anymore.
“What?”
“Say it again.” Aki said, needing to hear those words, know that it wasn’t just wishful thinking making him hear things.
“Please.” He pleaded, biting his lip as his eyes began to burn, a strong wave of emotion washing over him, taking his breath away.
“Aki…I didn’t mean…” Hitsugi began and his voice held such disappointment that Aki knew his world was over. Hitsugi was probably drunk and hadn’t meant anything of what he’d said.
“I’m sorry I barged in. I’ll go now.” Aki bowed before he turned quickly. But he wasn’t fast enough and Ni~ya and Hitsugi saw his tears falling. Strange…so that’s why his vision was so blurry.
Aki was already out the door before Ni~ya finally pushed Hitsugi back into reality.
“Go after him.” Ni~ya ordered and Hitsugi knew he had to right his wrongs.
