Can't wait to see L's (from Death Note) new movie called L: Change the World that's coming out next month. Not a lot of detail has been revealed yet about the movie except that it is set during the last 23 days of L's (Kenichi Matsuyama's back!) life.
*SPOILER WARNING* L supposedly dies after he wrote his own name in the Death Note in order to defeat Kira@Light Yagami in Death Note: The Last Name. But since this movie is supposed to happen after the Kira affair, then it must mean that he didn't actually die at the end of Death Note 2. They didn't actually show him die if I remember correctly. It "happened" off-screen. Did he just fall asleep and dropped the bar of chocolate he was holding onto Watari's photo then? -_-" *END OF SPOILER*
MisaMisa (Erika Toda) is listed high in the cast list but it's unknown whether she will play a major role in the film. My bet is that she'll just make a cameo appearance =(
From the trailers it looks like it has something to do with someone controlling a deadly virus threatening mankind (oh no not another one!) and it's up to our hero L to stop him/her/them/it. The director for this spinoff is Hideo Nakata. I loved some of his earlier work but one thing I noticed is that he doesn't have much variety in his style. IMHO he's not really adept at doing any kind of fast paced action. I hope he proves me wrong on this one.
My first impression on L: Change the World isn't that good. I have a feeling it won't even be as good or as thought provoking as the Death Note movies but Kenichi's portrayal of L is always interesting to watch and that alone could be enough to save the movie from the shinigamis^^.
