More Than Words

Night 5 of 6

This week (I'm running super late on my posting) we worked on breathing more, and also on diction.

'I want a proper coffee in a proper copper coffee pot'.

Its remarkably hard to say when your brain keeps telling you that you want a proper cup of coffee in a proper coffee cup.

The changes in us have been so subtle was hard to imagine the course has had any impact upon us at all. It must have though. Having observed each other during different activities this week we can all see differences in each other's posture, demeanor, confidence and creativity. The reflection I saw of myself was more confident, more articulate.

Next week, the last week of the course, we each do our 5 minute presentations to the group. I'm still not entirely certain what I'm going to talk about. I had thought of deconstructing a Dr Seuss poem (Too Many Daves), but I'm not sure I can pull off a 5 minute discussion on it. As I'm not allowed to write or prepare anything in advance I'm just not sure how long I could talk about it.

I asked a couple of people on the course if they knew what they were going to talk about, and none of them had any concrete ideas. So I just don't know. I could talk about how Usagi and I became a couple, because its an incredible story filled with tragedy and love, but again I don't know if its going to be interesting to other people, or if its going to take up five minutes.

5 minutes is a mind bogglingly long time.

The silly thing is I'm delivering a 4 hour training session this coming Tuesday that I'm considerably more comfortable with than the 5 minute presentation for my course. Its probably because the training session has been written by me and I know it pretty much by heart.
