As some of you may remember, back in the end of March I attend a wonderful knitting weekend called
Stickfest i Väst (you can read about it here), where I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Ulrika from
StickaMera. She has taken it upon herself to gather together all things knitting related in Sweden (even a bit beyond the borders) on her website. Oh, and Ulrika's an organizer, she is! She arranges swaps and secret pals and even holds monthly contests, giving away yarn to the winners. And that's where the title of this post comes in, you see, I won one of Ulrika's contests. It was an anagram Easter Contest. I had to unscramble a bunch of letters and it became "tulpanbukett" (tulip bouquet). My name was drawn out of all of the correct answers and in the mail today I received some lovely purple Tedman & Kvist, Colina yarn (70% cotton, 30% linen).
Thanks, Ulrika! Now, what to knit out of it....
In other news, it's that time of year again. "What time of year is that?", you might ask. Why, it's
*Sock Madness 4 time! And I'm in the throes of knitting knee socks for Round 4, having made it through all 3 previous rounds that took the field down from around 200 knitters in the beginning, to 80 at the start of the current round.
olivia23 is hanging in there, right beside me! How are your knee socks coming along, dear? I'm about 2 inches away from starting the heel, knitting both socks at the same time. What a knit! We received the pattern mid-afternoon CEST (Central European Summer Time) and one clever lady in Canada finished both of her socks early this morning. She's the first one to finish, 55 to go! I've been knitting every spare moment I have outside of work (I knit during coffee breaks and lunch, as well) and anticipate finishing tomorrow evening, at the earliest.
Isn't it time for a coffee break?
Here are the socks that I completed for the first 3 rounds:
Round 1
Round 2
Round 3
*I think I'm in a constant state of "Sock Madness"!
