I came across this interesting article (Lessons from the Browser War) that discusses a study by a student Pai-Ling Yin, at Harvard Business School. I put this in my blog mainly for those who might not come across this on sites like slashdot etc where I found this :)

Yes, you have a good point when we refer to open src sw like FF.

But I was amused (in a cynical sense) to think that those who banked on their creativity to earn a living, have a lot of other aspects to learn as well :)

This article made me think on a higher abstract level of importance of marketing and sales strategy! Very very interesting!

Guess what stage took the most effort? It was not the idea behind the startup, but the financial projections :-)
Amen to that. I've seen many techies look at this aspect with disdain. It's very hard work actually.
