The RWA National Conference was held last week in Orlando, Florida. Saturday night, the winners of the RITA were announced. I'm psyched to see I've read more of this year's winners than usual. I'm never going to read all the winners solely because some of the categories don't appeal to me at all, but here's the complete list:
2010 RITA Winner for Best Young Adult Romance
Perfect Chemistry
by Simone Elkeles
I read and loved this one! I don't read a whole lot of contemporary fiction, but I'd heard so many awesome things about PERFECT CHEMISTRY that I had to give it a try. My 5 Star Goodreads review is
here.
2010 RITA Winner for Best Inspirational Romance
The Inheritance
by Tamera Alexander
2010 RITA Winner for Best Novel With Strong Romantic Elements
The Lost Recipe for Happiness
by Barbara O'Neal
2010 RITA Winner for Best Romance Novella
"The Christmas Eve Promise"
In The Night Before Christmas
by Molly O'Keefe
2010 RITA Winner for Best Contemporary Series Romance
A Not-So-Perfect Past
by Beth Andrews
2010 RITA Winner for Best Contemporary Series Romance
Suspense/Adventure
The Soldier's Secret Daughter
by Cindy Dees
I recognize this book! I'm not sure which review site I saw it on, but I remember the reviwer commenting on the baby's head, thinking the publisher tweaked the photo in a weird way.
2010 RITA Winner for Best Historical Romance
Not Quite A Husband
by Sherry Thomas
I read several Sherry Thomas books and liked them all right. I keep wanting to fall in love with her novels, though, and I haven't quite liked them that much. I think I'll give this one a try, though. It has a pretty cover. :-)
2010 RITA Winner for Best Regency Historical Romance
What Happens In London
by Julia Quinn
Bought this last week! Started reading it last night. Loving it so far! That's not surprising, though. I think I might be a fan of Julia Quinn. I listened to LOST DUKE OF WYNDHAM on audiobook and adored it. I don't know why I haven't read all of Quinn's backlist yet. I must change that STAT.
2010 RITA Winner for Best Paranormal Romance
Kiss of a Demon King
by Kresley Cole
Read this one! Only gave it 4 Stars on Goodreads, though. Huh. My review is
here. Looks like I was a little confused about Sabin's motivation. I do remember loving this book, though, and it's Kresley Freaking Cole. She's brilliant!
2010 RITA Winner for Best Romantic Suspense
Whisper of Warning
by Laura Griffin
2010 RITA Winner for Best First Book
One Scream Away
by Kate Brady
2010 RITA Winner for Best Contemporary Single Title Romance
Too Good To Be True
by Kristin Higgins
This isn't something I'd normally pick up, but it sounds cute!
So how many of these books have you read? Any you plan on reading?
