MOVIES!!!

I’ve seen more films of Ioan Gruffud's lately.

I saw the first 6 Horatio Hornblower films, Wilde, Very Annie Mary, and Solomon and Gaenor.

I love him even more now, but I wish I would stop CRYING!

The best part of Very Annie Mary was when Matthew Rhys and Ioan sang “Mary Get Your Gun”. They were just so cute and GAY in that movie. I just loved ( Read more... )

Yes, she was being an idiot, but she had good intentions. After all, she could have won something and maybe doubled the money for Bethan. I just can't be mad with her. ;)

Unfortunately Bosie came into the picture and fucked it all up.
My point exactly. Bosie annoys me to no end and he's so useless that I wish he weren't in the movie (and in Oscar Wilde's RL) at all. Such an idiot. And in the end, it was him who destroyed Oscar. *grmbls* I hate him.

I like how awkward and cute Steve can be.
I especially like his shocked face, for example when Jane tells him about "Elizabeth"... :D So cute!

it seemed like he loved her
Yeah. Not like he loved Bush or Archie - though I've come to think that while Horatio and Archie are cute together, movie!canon doesn't really encourage me to think they were lovers, especially because of that thing with Simpson. It's merely implied, of course, but I'm certain Simpson raped Archie, and I suppose it will take him a long time until he can finally have sex again, especially with another man. But I'm getting carried away.

Do tell me what you think of the "marriage proposal scene". :D I love it to bits! Alas, I have misplaced my Loyalty DVD and can't find it anywhere. WOE!

Nobody else on my lj knows enough about Ioan. :)
THE SHAME!! We must teach them!

Yeah, it's hard to dislike her.

I know, and leaving John Gray for him was the stupidest thing Oscar ever did. Though, really they deserved each other.

Oh yeah, Steve's shocked face is great, but never forget the power of his sweet face. Like when he smiled at Susan at the end of "Patrick's Closet of Love" before Jeff appeared.

He just loved her, but wasn't in love with her. Glad to know I'm not the only one that thinks Simpson did that. Archie's mortal fear of him and Simpson's "Jack's missed you boy" implied way too much. I think you're right about Archie.

I want to see the movie soon, but the holiday in the US on Monday means the post office stopped and it might not get here until next week.

They must all become his fangirls!

I wouldn't say Oscar deserved Bosie because I hate Bosie whereas I love Oscar, but I'd say that John Gray was too sweet for him. And too much like Oscar. He needed someone completely different, someone to inspire him, make him write, give him the carrot and the stick.

I watched Size Matters and my all-time-favourite Inferno again today and I know what you mean. His sweet face is... so damn sweet. (Sorry for the not-making-too-much-sense, but even the thought of his sweet face makes me forget everything important, like language and vocabulary.) *loves*

He just loved her, but wasn't in love with her.
Exactly. Err... Sorry for the self-pimping, but you haven't read "Know the Difference" yet, have you? The one in which Hornblower reflects on Mariette and Kitty Cobham? That fic contemplates his relationship to them in depth. And I must do a recommendations post for you soon, so that you get to read fic from all the wonderful writers of the fandom and can forget my poor ramblings.

*huggles* It's quite difficult to wait after Retribution, I can totally see that. But be assured that it's worth the wait. Especially because of the blatant HH/WB and Major Côtard. :D

Well, he did inspire him, but they were a lot alike. It is sad that he kept using people though. Then Bosie used him, it was almost fair. I like Oscar a lot more than Bosie.

*wants to squish Steve with huggs*

I love your fics, I'll read it when I have a chance. Looking forward to the recs.

I know it's a huge moment after another huge SAD moment, then it just cuts off. I need to see the next films!

You have a point there. Still, it's easier for me to forgive Oscar because he really was a genius. I mean, just look at The Importance of Being Earnest. A work of great brilliance. :)
Bosie was just there, like the pompous ass he was, and not actually doing much except for getting Oscar down. That's what I hate.

*joins you in squishing Steve* I watched another episode of Coupling today and he's teh cuteness. Susan is way too evil to him. O_O

*keeps fingers crossed for the films to arrive quickly*

Yes, being a great author definately helps me like him. I've read Earnest and Dorian Gray now. :)

Bosie was just a prissy brat.

Susan is too hard on him.

The next films should be here Wednesday. (YAY)
