File Sharing Site Woes

Feb 07, 2013 23:56

Now that I've been uploading stuff recently, I realized that Mediafire actually has some file download restrictions on certain files. (I don't really get when it happens. :/) I decided to make my own list of file sharing sites I've seen uploaders nowadays use.

Others still up for deliberation: Dropbox, Box, Minus

Remarks:
  • I know Mediafire is still the people's favorite, but when too many people download a file, MF blocks some people from downloading it for a while.
  • Filecloud seems  nice, except "indefinitely" means your file will suddenly just vanish. lol. I've uploaded there before, and Idk if my file vanished because of copyright infringement or just because. :/
  • What's the difference between 2shared and 4shared anyway?
  • I've seen a few people using Google Drive recently, but I'm worried that files would just get deleted fast there. Thoughts?
  • There's Narod, Rayfile  or 115, but they're in another language (Russian/Chinese), and I'd rather not upload in a place where I can't even read the rules properly, haha.
On another note, I'm contemplating on using a mirror uploader instead (either Mirrorcreator or MirrorUpload.net). Hmmmm.

So many choices. I miss Megaupload. T_T

And on a totally unrelated note, has anybody experienced LJ screwing up their entries? I'm not sure if it's the visual editor that's the problem, but sometimes the letters after html (i.e. bold/italicized words) disappears, making my entry have more typos than it originally had. And every time I try to fix it, it just reverts back. LOL. Thanks LJ.
