random political ranting

after watching the endless coverage on the terrorist attacks on london today, i am moved to post. i don't think enough americans are as scared about this as they should be. do you know how easy it would be for some crazy person to walk onto a subway in boston, new york, or san francisco, (or any other city) with a bomb? these terrorists aren't idiots. they don't leave 'suspicious packages' laying around. they're lunatics who throw bombs in their backpacks, hop onto a train, and accept the fact that they will be the first killed when it goes off. any person you're sitting next to on a subway could potentially have a bomb in their carry on bag. why do we have so much security in airports and none in public transportation? would it be so hard to have a few medal detectors and bomb sniffing dogs around? oh wait, that would be too expensive, since we're presently wasting all of our tax dollars fighting a completely unnecessary "war."

in response to the attacks, our president said "The war on terror goes on. I was most impressed by the resolve of all the leaders in the room. Their resolve is as strong as my resolve." i truly believe GW is the stupidest man alive. first of all, where is this alleged "war on terror" taking place? cause terrorists seem to have no difficulty attacking us while this war is going on. we must be losing this "war." the only place i'm aware of any war-like activities is Iraq. as far as i know, osama and al-quida reside in afghanistan. they actually verbally took responsibility for 9-11. and instead of a-bombing the shit out of them, we go into iraq and arrest sadaam? i mean he's a shitty guy, but he had nothing to do with that. just like he continues to have nothing to do with terrorist attacks. we have wasted millions of dollars and over 1800 lives in iraq doing essentially nothing, other than allowing terrorists, who live predominantly in other countries, the time to plan and pull off these disgusting attacks on innocent people. i know sadaam treated his people like shit. truthfully, i could care less. we spend all this time liberating people, most of whom had no desire to change their existing way of live. when will we learn to mind our own damn business?? now we spend more money trying to rebuild fucking iraq when in my opinion we could have just left it as is and life would have been about the same as it is right now.

it disgusts me that our president has the power to single handedly send troops to war without the consent of congress. he's not supposed to be a unilateral leader. it's called 'checks and balances' and we all learned about it in eighth grade. i'm actually frightened that this could even happen. if i had a child or friend that died in this poor excuse for a war, i would assassinate bush myself. i would find him and i would kill him. for being terminally stupid. i'd like to see him in iraq in a bunker with a machine gun. i loathe and detest him, and cannot believe that he was elected to another term. maybe some day people will start voting for political reasons instead of religious ones and we can get a president that knows what he's doing.

and don't even get me started on his tax principles...it will bore you. i don't want my republican friends to be offended by the above war-bashing; i assure you my accounting education has left me with better tax related ideas than either bush or any democratic candidate; further, the above argument was not anti-republican but rather anti-bush in general. there are many fine republicans and democrats in the world. i don't belong to either party. i just hate bush with every fiber of my being. feel free to clue me in on anything good he's done for this country so maybe i won't have to come up with an elaborate way to kill him in his sleep.
