today i took care of all of the necessary 'financial independence' things i had to do to prepare for next school year. it involved a lot of signing. signing my savings bonds to help with tuition. signing the hefty tuition loan check from the lovely folks at citizens bank. signing my tuition check and mailing it to the bastards at wake. and finally, signing my job offer letter with reznick, which i felt was an appropriate activity for someone who is going to need to be paying off school loans in the near future.
signing your life away is fun, right?
NOT excited to go back to school. mostly becuase i know that i'm going to be uber-stressed next year and miss out on my last year of fun before the real world begins. for this reason, i am avoiding returning to winston for as long as humanly possible, planning my triumphant return at about 36 hours before my first class of the semester. good times. i just purchased my books online so i don't even need to enter the bookstore for anything other than a 6 subject notebook. what? 6 subject notebooks don't exist becuase no one in their right mind takes 6 graduate classes at wake in the same semester? well shit. it'll have to be two 3 subject notebooks then. what can you do. i fear that any second now the bookstore will charge this to my credit card and it will be quite significant...last fall i spent $735 on books. is it even possible for it to be higher this time around? i hope not, for my credit limit's sake.
speaking of credit cards, one of mine (the big one) expired and they haven't sent me a new one yet. i'm getting mad. students with heavy education related debt need more than one credit card. i'm gonna have to call the whores at capital one and straighten this out.
this is my day off. and so i shall enjoy it in my empty house by listeneing to the new cd's i just spent a small fortune on (damn you, best buy) and reading the new Cooking Light. perhaps going to panera for dinner. alone. i have no friends anymore. except the ones that have to work all night. boo.
ciao.
