Actually, we've had sun for a few days now, and the floods seem to be abating... but my sister just sent me this slideshow, which contains some very dramatic shots of what was going on all too recently 'round these parts. The first several pics are of her lake-Whitney Lake-where she's a park ranger.

Sharing a few pics of opening day courtesy of Mark (from the faire first aid team). Yep, that's real snow (of the happy flaky variety, not the usual annoying ice pellets). It was a first in Scarborough history. We have had snow during workshops, but never on a faire day. Texas. April. Whodathunk?

The family reunion was great. It felt good to be home for reasons far beyond the lovely 84° weather that included a lovely breeze off the lake. No, I don't care that I've lived in Texas for 25 years... in many ways it will always be a foreign place, made bearable by the loved ones surrounding me.
