Yeah...I've been meaning to update since Friday but I've been a little busy. Things have definitely been busy over the past few weeks...even coming down to this last week. Although things are starting to slow down...thankfully. Update on my interview process:
Thursday I had an interview with the U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids for a Help Desk position that was open. I went to Grand Rapids, l leaving at freakin 8 a.m. I met the woman I had been in contact with..only to find out that she wasn't going to be sitting in on the interview AND that I was having an interview with 3 people. I kinda wish I knew that ahead of time. It lasted at most 25 minutes...and I wasn't happy at all. They were nice, but it wasn't warm and inviting. I didn't feel comfortable about how it went at all. I don't know if I would accept a second interview if they offered it to me...but we'll see. I stopped by 28th street in GR to get gas..which was 5 minutes or less from KKC Technologies. I was hoping that they would call me while I was in GR so that way I could swing over there real quick...but no go.
I had called KKC on Monday and asked the secretary, Michelle, when I would find out. She told me that it would be by the end of the week. So needless to say, last week was torture. Sometimes it was downright depressing because I really want this job and they weren't calling. Friday, while studying for my Stats exam, I got a call! They want me back for a 3rd and Final interview TODAY!! This afternoon, at 4:30, I have my final interview with KKC. From the sound of it, it's down to one other candidate, and myself. It will be a group interview, where I meet with 4 other guys who work there, although I'm not sure if any of them are the two that I've met so far. Also, I'm not sure if the other candidate is there too, or if it's just myself.
I'm really excited, and starting to get a little nervous. I just need to be myself, which shouldn't be too hard. I believe that there's a possibility that both candidates could get hired because the President, in my first interview, said something about hiring AT LEAST 1 person, by the end of the summer, if not more. I know I won't get any sleep tonight because now I know the only other step after this is a job offer. This leaves more room for rejection....but also means there's no guessing what the next step is. I'm guessing I'll find out by the end of the week, so I'll know by graduation if I have a job or not.
