i simply have one question that i hope everyone can help me with... i was introduced to Hinduism a few years ago, and Shiva and His family have always fascinated me- all of them before i even knew they were connected! i ended up learning about Shiva and practicing meditation and worship through it, learned mantras and the Shiva aarti.
Now, a friend of mine mailed me a sphatik Shiva lingam, with different worship items. he did it for no real reason, i didn't ask him to- he said in a letter that he thought i could use it and find great love in devotion to the Lingam. problem is, i don't know how to worship the Linga. i don't know what the items are... i know the incense holder, lamp, bell and their uses, but i dont know anything else, nor am i sure how to offer them to the Lingam, or how to even worship it in itself! if someone could please explain to me what the items i list below are, their uses and how to offer them, as well as explain Linga worship, i would greatly appreciate it greatly! i do want to worship Shiva with devotion, which i was doing to the best of my ability before, but now with an auspicious Lingam in my house, i'd like to learn proper worship.
