Computer update this time! Whoo.
So I was up and about at about 10:30AM today. Pretty good for having dozed off at like a bit past midnight. Mmm nothing beats insomnia quite like sleeping in your own bed. Especially with what seems like an armada of pillows. Fluffy pillows that is.
So my morning went quite normally.
Played some trumpet for fun. I'm tempted to try out some new mouthpieces, most notably Schilke and Jet Tone mouthpieces, but I can't justify spending the money on something like that right now. Thus, I will stick to my Yamaha 14A4a and Bach 5C. They play beautifully and I love the rim size on the 5C, but I want to try something a bit shallower and robust.
But I will save this wistful dreaming for another day.
Also enjoyed some of the random leftovers we have lying about. Sheesh, I balance out exercise and food a whole lot better when at the dorm compared to at home!
I'm really enjoying the newfound energy I have from all of the biking I've done lately. It's like I now have this overwhelming urge to move about on days when I don't establish time for biking.
Sewed some velcro to scrap cloth to make a cheap "Velcro Silencer" because whenever I was in a silent place, it was getting really annoying to have to rip open some hook and loop stuff (because "Velcro" is a copyrighted name). It works well enough and looks just as cheap as it costs. Let's see.. about three bucks. But it works quite wonderfully.
There's this strange fly infestation in my house and it's driving my brother and I crazy. My mom seems perturbed by it too, but not as much as me and my brother.
I've been killing them left and right with a fly swatter and a can of Raid spray. I feel a bit bad about ending their lives so violently, since they're just hardwired to try their best to survive. Here I am all like "YOU INCONVENIENCE ME! I SHALL END YOUR LIVES!!!!!" and murdering them in a rampage.
Either way.. creepy and annoying.
Tried to sell this stack of textbooks online.. I can't believe that most of these books only lead to $.68 offers from amazon .. My econ books and media book were getting me offers of $30-45, but that's nowhere near what I paid for them.
This stack is apparently worth about a hundred twenty bucks.
... that's a fair bit annoying.
Thus I fully intend to try to sell directly to UCI students via the several facebook pages available. I should be able to make far more money this way.
Watched UCI's baseball team BARELY lose to Virginia on ESPN D:
Seriously!?!? Bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, empty bases, ahead by one point, AND THEY SCORED TWO POINTS!?!?
It's okay little anteaters. I still love you guys.
I fully intend to go to at least one of the UCI baseball games before I graduate. I've been trying my best to make the best of my time at UCI, and I want to show my school spirit! I realized that most folks who complain about not getting much are the folks who have never cared to seek out things that aren't spoon fed to them. UCI has a bunch of offer me and I fully intend to take it!
Went on a fly hunt with bro dude. Who seems to actually be doing stuff during his internship now!
Went to a few places to check things. Namely to see if Fry's has the tripod at a cheaper price.. but they surprisingly didn't!
Also, finally got my brother a birthday present. I'm only like two weeks late. First season of Dexter's Laboratory. Twenty bucks. He seems quite happy with it.
I'm thinking of hunting myself a used DSLR camera.. if just because I am nowhere near being able to afford the Sony camcorder designed to used those lenses, and most similar resolution camcorders cost far more than these cameras. I want to be able to pull off higher quality work and build a better portfolio. I know animation is plenty cool, but I need variety to be able to stand out. Plus I want to do more contests and festivals.
hmm KTLA 5's news looks like it's having a bunch of technical difficulties with their microphones.. hmm..
... I may just go on another murderous rampage on these flies. They're really driving me nuts.
