The funeral was... a funeral. They had two preachers give a sermon and had the family meet in a private room for a prayer, wich I had never experienced before. It was also a military funeral; it was quite interesting and moving druing the burial while the 18 gun salute was given (it is usualy 21 but they couldnt gather enough veterens in the area) and the flag folding was very ceremonial and precise. I got to be a suprise paul bearer, which was not fun at all. I was less concerned with the feeling of carrying an occupied casket and more concerned with the thought of "what if I drop it", and the funeral director was not very clear on how to actually cary it and place it on the lowering lift, so I just stood in the middle. The only thing about being the person assisting a lift from the middle though is that they seem quite useless. I didnt feel any stress in carrying the coffin due to the weight distribution being mostly on the two ends.

The 10 hour drive was fun too...
We got there at 5am and the funeral started at 11, but since we were family we had to get there at like 9 to arrange the cars.

I am intending to not sit in a car for the next week and a half when I come home next, but I am out of trash bags and probably cannot aviod it.
