Things Change

I've finally done it. I've finally put the gears in motion. As of next month I will be moved to the bay area.

I've been talking about it for some time now. You'll hear me say "I'm planning on moving" a lot with no actual steps taken to achieve it. Well, I'm doing it. I went to my boss the other day and told him I wanted to transfer. We found a store near the area I'll be living. Pending their response, my last day at the Chico Target will be on the 30th and I'll be starting at my new store(Cupertino) on the 6th of April. And until I can find my feet and get my own place I'll be living with my sister, Marcella.

I have many reasons for moving. I'll be closer to my family, it's a change of scenery, there are more opportunities in the area, it's a fresh dating scene, etc. But I'm still a bit scared, of course. I've forged some strong friendships here and I'll be leaving them behind. Save for the [very] few people who feel inclined to visit me, I'll likely only see my friends every couple months. I'm almost afraid that I won't be able to make new friends. Even though I know that not to be the case.

Sometimes I wonder if I'll be missed. But it's refreshing when someone who I never see outside of work says it will be lonely without me. I will miss a lot of people at work. Even some of the ones who don't know I'll miss them. Maybe because I'll just miss looking at them. ;)

Here's hoping I'm making the right decision.
