Yuletide Letter 2020
Dear wonderful Yuletide author,
Thank you so much for being my author and for offering one of these 3 amazing fandoms!
I'll write a few suggestions for each of my picks, but if you already have an idea that you're passionate about writing, by all means go for it :)
General likes and dislikes:
Gen, slash and het are all good. I love both light and funny fics, as well as dark, atmospheric or scary fics. I would, however, really like the story to end well, or at least not too badly, for the main characters (anything from happy to bittersweet); and I would be super grateful if you could avoid main character death (unless it's already part of the canon), and if you could avoid dubcon or noncon if you'd like to write explicit scenes.
1. 'Bad Idea' - Moon Bin & Sanha (Music Video)
Characters: Moon Bin, Sanha
I love how stylishly mysterious this MV is, and I would love to learn more about these 2 characters! What are they doing in that hotel? How are they related? I would love to have your own interpretation of what is going on.
Here are a few questions if you'd like some suggestions: are they both some kind of agents on a secret mission that they have botched somehow, and are trying to fix the consequences? Is Moon Bin the one who had a 'bad idea' and dragged Sanha into his mess, or are they both equally at fault? Did Moon Bin drug Sanha (and why)? Were they both drugged by someone else? In fact, is Sanha a special agent like Moon Bin or is he just an innocent bystander that Moon Bin for some reason had to/decided to drag into this?
Basically, I would love any take of yours on this canon!
2. Aggretsuko (Anime)
Characters: Retsuko, Fenneko, Gori, Washimi
I am head over heels in love with this show and its deeply human, deeply quirky characters, and a story involving any combination of those 4 would make me super happy. I love how Fenneko, Gori and Washimi all watch over and care for Retsuko each in their special way, and how all 4 colleagues always try very hard to understand and respect one another despite having vastly different personalities.
I would love a fluffy and/or funny fic about them hanging out together, with any or all of the 4 characters. It could be a Gori & Washimi wild night out, Fenneko awkwardly spending time/having drunk conversations with both or either of them and getting to know them better, Fenneko/Gori/Washimi staging an intervention to rescue Retsuko from one of her mother's visits, all 4 of them having to deal with work (or outside work) hijinks, etc - basically anything that strikes your fancy would be great! (Feel free to have other characters feature in your story as well).
3. Heavy Rain (Video Game)
Character: Norman Jayden
I would love anything from Norman's perspective, before, during or after the events of the game. What I find the most touching about this character is how much he's struggling underneath his badass FBI agent exterior, and how difficult it seems for him to forge human connections despite how highly empathetic he seems to be. He seems deeply uneasy and stressed out during most social interactions, partly uses his ARI glasses to retreat from the outside world, has tons of anxiety that he doesn't know how to deal with and obviously struggles with drug addiction, and mostly seems extremely lonely.
We get so little about his character in the game that I would love to learn more about him (feel free to include other characters from the game and/or original characters). You could expand on moments from the game that we weren't privy to, or give me glimpses of his past: for instance, in what circumstances did he lose his previous FBI partner? What was their relationship? What about one of the first cases he solved, or vignettes from his childhood and/or his twenties? Or you could write about his future: what does he become after the origami killer case, assuming he hasn't died? Has he resigned from the FBI? What does his new life look like? If he's still in the FBI, maybe you could tell me about a future case. Have his depression and social anxiety gotten better or worse? Basically any story allowing me to spend more time with this character would be awesome!

So these are my feelings about these 3 canons with optional prompts, but like I said, these are all suggestions and I'd also be super stoked to read anything else in those worlds that you're passionate about writing!
