Thank you so much for being my author and for offering one of these three wonderful fandoms!
I'll put a few suggestions for each of my fandoms, but if you already have an idea that you're passionate about writing, by all means go with it :)
A few general things about me:
Gen, slash and het are all good.
I love both light and funny fics, as well as dark, atmospheric or scary fics. I would, however, really like the story to end well, or at least not too badly, for the main characters (anything from happy to bittersweet); and I would be super grateful if you could avoid main character death (unless it's already part of the canon), and if you could avoid dubcon or noncon if you'd like to write explicit scenes.
1. MUSHISHI
I would love any story set in this world. I love how atmospheric and poetical the show/manga is, and how subtly and tenderly it depicts its characters. I have only watched season 1 of the anime so far, but I'm catching up so feel free to reference any part of the canon. A few suggestions:
Anything from Ginko's perspective as he wanders around and encounters new mushi or reflects on his past/present would be great.
Alternatively, a fic from another character's or mushi's perspective (whether a canonical character or an original one) would also be awesome; or even something from the perspective of the woods / the landscape itself.
Basically, anything that would immerse me deeper in this world would make me super happy :)
2. TXT - 'Nap of a Star' (
Music Video)
This MV is so stunningly beautiful, and I love the journey of self-acceptance and self-love Yeonjun and the rest of the boys go through, and how they are all able to find each other again and reconnect into such a strong friendship at the end. (If you need more information about this canon,
here is a small animated video introducing the story, and
here you can find a translation of the Korean text in the MV).
I would love anything set in this universe, from any of the boys' POVs. For instance, a story expanding on their friendship before they separated, and how any or all of them came to reconnect with one another; or a story letting me glimpse into the struggles they had to go through by themselves, or delving into their present, renewed friendship(s).
This canon very easily lends itself to a queer reading - especially with Yeonjun struggling to accept himself the way he is, and the romantic framing of Yeonjun's and Hueningkai's relationship - so I'll also happily read anything you wish to write through this angle. (But the larger themes of accepting one's "difference" and individuality can lend themselves to a myriad other interpretations, so feel free to go with whatever speaks to you!)
And I also love how poetical and fantastical this universe is, so if you feel like doing some world-building, I'd be just as delighted to read it.
Basically, I would love any take of yours on this canon :)
3. The Most Beautiful Moment In Life (HYYH)
I have been obsessed with this universe ever since the 'I Need U' MV. I love how deeply it tackles self-discovery and the struggles of accepting oneself, and how intense it is to live in the moment when you're a teenager.
What I find fascinating with this canon is that it is so dense and rich and complex (and ever-expanding) that everyone's interpretation of it is different, which is why I would love to read your personal take on it. Please feel free to write about any aspect(s) and any character(s) of this world that speak the most to you (gen, slash, het - whatever you wish to go with, it's all great). You can reference the
webcomic and the
book if you wish to, but it's totally ok if you haven't read them and want to reference the
MVs only (and you can also of course reference the videos that came after HYYH).
If you would like some suggestions, I am for instance very intrigued by the relationships depicted in the HYYH era - Namjoon and Taehyung, Jimin and Hoseok, Yoongi and Jungkook. I would love a further look into their dynamics, or also into how Jin relates to any or all of these boys.
Little vignettes letting me glimpse into the moments all 7 of them shared together would be great as well, or anything expanding on their individual stories.
This canon is so angsty that I would also be super happy to read some hurt/comfort, with the boys learning to express their own suffering to the others (Yoongi and Jungkook reconciling, for instance, or Taehyung and Namjoon opening up to each other about what they're going through, Jimin and Hoseok providing each other support through their hospital stay, Jin becoming more honest with any or all of them; or any other combination of characters letting their friends see their own vulnerability...).
But like I said, these are all suggestions and I'd also be super stoked to read anything else in that universe that you're passionate about writing!
Thank you again for offering one of these fandoms, dear author, and have a wonderful yuletide!
