This has gone on for too long. This meme is just too damn long, so I'm finishing it now.
Question 27: Along similar lines, do appearances play a big role in your stories? Tell us about them, or if not, how you go about designing your characters.
No, appearences don't usually play a big role. I write what I like to read. I like a fast pace, and descriptions take away from that. I only describe what needs to be described for atmosphere purposes, or as a hint of things to come. Other than that, I stick to the basics.
When thinking up my characters (if my muse doesn't just show them to me), I concentrate on their role, not their appearance.
Question 28: Have you ever written a character with physical or mental disabilities? Describe them, and if there’s nothing major to speak of, tell us a few smaller ones.
Nope. Not really. I imagine that would be very difficult to write if one wants to do it justice.
The closest I came was one character having severe heart problems, but nothing medicine couldn't handle.
Question 29: How often do you think about writing? Ever come across something IRL that reminds you of your story/characters?
I think about writing on everage at least once a day.
As for the second part of the question, I once took a bus ride and a few rows in front of me sat someone who was the exact way I pictured one of my characters. That was fun.
The Picture Perfect 'verse is based on my nephews, so that's a given.
Also, given the content of most of my stories, I hope never to come across something in RL that reminds me of that story...
Question 30: Final question! Tag someone! And tell us what you like about that person as a writer and/or about one of his/her characters!
Uh, no. I don't do that. If you're interested in this, go ahead, but I'm not gonna tag anyone. Instead, here's a question for y'all: Have you ever used your own name in a fic? I don't mean as a self-insertion. Say your name is Sarah, have you ever had a character by that name? It's a common name, everyone uses it, but do you?
And for that matter, do you have characters that look like you do physically (and are not self-insertion)?
For me, the answer is the same. No.
I have a very common name, but I can't bring myself to naming a character after me. I had redheaded characters, but none with my real features. Dunno why. Kinda freaks me out, I guess.
Finito!
