Day 12 - Writing meme
Question 15: Midway question! Tell us about a writer you admire, whether professional or not!
I can't really think of just one writer I admire. I'm currently big into Dan Brown, David Baladachi and Harlen Coben (and Etgar Keret and Uri Adelman, which I doubt anyone would recognize).I admire stories. If a story made my heart speed up, if it made me think, if it haunted me later, I'd look up the author, but I won't obsess over him/her. (My sister is a little bit different. She buys everything the author's written, and since she's our family's library, we all get to read Coben, Brown and Baladachi. lol)
One of my all time favorite stories is the Count of Monte Cristo. It haunted me for years (the movie sucked btw). 2 fanfics did the same: Red, by bigpink , not bigpink *breaths again*
Question 16: Do you write romantic relationships? How do you do with those, and how “far” are you willing to go in your writing?
Oh yes. Definitely. Romance is important. Also, sexual tension can be awesome. The 'oh, come on, kiss already!' thing amuses me.
I don't write explicit sex. I don't really enjoy reading it, either, and like I said, I try to write what I like to read.
I prefer the 'behind the scenes', 'fill in the blanks yourself' approach.
As far as SPN fic goes, it's a bit trickier, since I don't go slash, and fandom doesn't really care for het. Also, again, not very comfortable with explicit scenes.
