Because I've seen it on my flist and figured it was a good braintease.
I often say I'm a writer, not an author. I write because I can't help myself. I need to write.
Don't know if anyone's gonna be interested in this, but I am. I think the questions are interesting for me, to figure some stuff out for myself. If anyone else wants to join the fun, you're more than welcome!
Day 1 - Tell us about your favorite writing project/universe that you’ve worked with and why
Well, that's a silly question. My favorite project/univers? It's all a matter of timing.
When I'm writing a fic, whatever fic, project or universe it's in, that's my favorite, or I wouldn't be writing it.
I see stories all the time.
All the time.
Actually putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard)? That means I can no longer resist the story. It means I love it, and that I want to play around in that place for a little bit longer.
I used to write fantasy stories. I created worlds, created gods and myths and characters, and I loved that.
I used to write sci-fi. I researched a bit, used some stuff from sci-fi TV shows, and created two characters I was totally obsessed with for months. Hell, the story was called Samsara. Get the point?
And I write Dean, because that 4:40 minute clip at the beginning of the pilot with wee!Dean, and then with Jensen on that bridge - I fell for that character. I didn't really know it up until Dead in the Water, but yeah. Little boy Dean. Maybe that's why I write so much pre-series.
Anyway, I've been telling people stories since kindergarten. I tell stories. I love that. I love seeing people's reactions, which is probably why I keep writing fanfic and don't go back to writing original fic.
But choosing?
My stories are like my childern. Some I've spent over a year writing. Some characters don't even belong to me. It doesn't matter. I can't choose, and I won't.
