Well it was sunny and breezy. Now it is grey and threatening. I am typing with one eye on the clouds in case I have to rush out and rescue the washing and replace it in the garden with our indoor ficus which is undergoing some hydro-therapy and is poised in the kitchen waiting for its chance to have a shower al fresco. So long as I am quick off the ( Read more... )

Hmmm, intriguing, I have just bought a multivitamin that has that co-enzyme Q10 business in it. Perhaps I too will be filled with boundless energy, though given that it's the first day of my Miracle Of Womanliness, it seems rather unlikely...

Hi! Welcome in. Hope you don't mind me not mentioning 1970's childhood moments all that much - although it doesn't take much to prompt me. I've read some of your fic on Bloodshedverse and enjoyed it. Pleased to meet you - virtually.

I'm kinda dubious about all the claims made by most supplement makers, as most are little more than hokum.

I always try to use my tool 'Follow the money!' to try and dissect most claims, and automatically discount the claims made by those who sell such supplements unless there is independent verification from some reliable source that does not somehow benefit from such claims.

Oh I totally agree, except as far as following the research up all that much goes, as my baseline assumption is 'hokum' as you put it and I don't tend to investiagte all that deeply - bad me! My mother however seems to have grown millitant about supplements in her old age. She is always buying me things to try and to keep the peace I usually swallow a couple and then say 'sorry, it doesn't seem to work for me'. This time though I have noticed an appreciable effect and haven't been able to trace down any believable studies that would explain it - hence my psychosomatic query.
