I guess things are going better than the last time I posted. For starters, Charlie and I are getting along much better. Mostly because I decided to drop the job thing temporarily. I was just sick of the fighting and arguing, and it was getting us nowhere so I dropped it for a few days and *poof* we're not fighting anymore.
We also finally got our marriage license in the mail, so now I can change my name officially and we can be like a real married couple. It still doesn't seem real because my name hasn't been changed anywhere except facebook and myspace. Not exactly a great start, I know.
We got the wedding pictures back and they are absolutely amazing! Totally worth the money and the extra trip to Dry Ridge. Unfortunately, now we're not going to be able to make the trip to Dry Ridge for the party for Casey. He's been gone for two months for some sort of deployment training; he's going to be in town for a couple weeks and then head to Iraq. I can't imagine how thrilled Jess is to have him around right now. Speaking of them, one of the things I'm looking forward to most right now is finding out if they're going to have a boy or girl. (I know he'she isn't mine, but since it's gonna be a long time until we have our own, if ever, I'm going to be a great auntie and love him/her like my own).
To put things mildly, things have not been resolved at all. I feel like we're in limbo again, and I'm not enjoying him being on 3rd shift as much as I thought I would. We do get a lot of time to spend together, but we have so much less money now that we can't really go out and do anything. We have been taking long walks, which I enjoy both because of the quality time and the weight I've been losing. Other than that, though, we just sort of sit around. We moved into our dream apartment, but it's so far on the south side that it's a half hour trip to see our friends downtown, in Old Louisville, etc. Not to mention that since we're both working 3rd shift, we've basically become nocturnal, so when we're awake, everything but Kroger and Wal-mart are closed. Not exactly my idea of a good time. Nate comes over a lot either before he goes to work or when he gets home because he works third shift also, and because he works relatively close to where we live. Krystle has also been over recently to look at wedding pictures, but she's not over often. I guess I just feel isolated. I love Charlie, and I love spending time with him, but I would also like to have friends. Of course, I know that I do have friends. I just never really get to see them or talk to them.
Things will be ok, of course. They always are. I'm sure that this is just a phase that we're going through, but it's making me sad. I don't want to whine, so I'm just gonna shut up about this and say again how wonderful my wedding pictures are! There are some really hilarious ones of Charlie and my dad. Can't wait for everyone to see them!
