I absolutely adore the game-- the presentation of the main character as someone realistic without being real is still quite rare, and the music was the finest of the series(well, minus X's version of The Prelude).
I've still not activated most of the Celestials because WHO THE HELL CAME UP WITH SOME OF THOSE TASKS. Also, I ended up making better weapons, for the most part(Evade&Counter + Tidus = HAHAHA NO ATTACKS WILL EVER HURT ME). =/
I love Tidus, he's easier to identify with than the emo bois, Cloud and Squall. Yes he's immature, yes he's hyperactive, yes he speaks like a teenager, well duuuuuh, he's 17! I've even watched the bootleg 'movie' so I could experience the Japanese voices - the personality doesn't change! The only different is, he has a gay laugh. >.>
I can easily get Auron and Yuna's weapons. I won't bother with Wakka's - I hate blitzball. I saw an interesting strategy for getting Lulu's, but I still think it will drive me insane. Kimahri's I might try for, if only to defeat the butterfly challenges. I'll need no encounters to make Lulu and Rikku's mini games. Tidus' will be a pain, I've never been able to do it. But it's nice to know even the FFX experts suck at it too.
Yep, the music is awesome in epic proportions! I listen to the soundtracks often, even the vocal album.
Did you ever play FFX-2? Three playthroughs netted me 100%.
I found Blitzball to be fun, if only because it was absurdly easy to break the game(especially if you nabbed the Al Bhed goalie, as well as Wedge and the Jecht Shot).
Hell, even the first tournament is easy if you pull off a goal-- just get the ball and swim to your goal and sit there. :D
I got X-2 when it came out, and other than the battle system, I kinda regretted it. Mainly it was the storyline and the way certain characters lost their personality(Brother, Rikku).
...oh, and fuck whoever came up with Sphere Break.
I have the Jecht Shot. OK, once I defeat Yunalesca I'll give it a go and do your tips. >.> I managed to do one shot during the match.
Aww, I loved Brother and Rikku in X-2. Apart from the outfit and hair, how do you feel Rikku changed? As for Brother, we didn't really get to know him in X, anyway.
I can't do math, but with a guide I could do Sphere Break (but I only participated in the tourny). I printed out a cheat sheet that shows just about every combo. So, before each round, since I could see the outside numbers, I would jot down one combo for each potential middle number. It was time consuming, but guaranteed me victory. To get my 100% I needed it and I did enjoy the Gambler dresssphere, so well worth the effort.
Rikku was still intelligent, she was just bouncier than ever due to optimism. She had little reason to be sad any more because the new era offered stability and equality for her people.
I got them all. And y'know what, I never bothered to use the special dresspheres once. If I play again I'll be sure to give them a go at least once. Funny how most of the dresspheres were useless.
