Interesting day...
Was out at lunch, visiting my friend Kristian, when who comes into his shop?
My ex-boyfriend Mike.
Things didn't end well between Mike and I, and he was bitter about it for a long time, so I've kinda avoided him ever since. But there was no way I could duck out, and he'd definitely seen me, so I acted nonchalant, and scanned the shelves, talked to Kris a little....
After a bit, he came near, also scanning the shelves, and said hi. Like you would if you'd spotted someone you used to know. So I said hi back, and we exhanged pleasantries for a few minutes.
Then he apologised for the shit he gave me when we broke up, and left. I felt kinda strange afterwards. A little relieved perhaps? It's like a chapter of my life has finally ended.
At least now if I run into him at the shop again, we can say hi. We were good friends, in the very beginning, with several common interests. And he gave me a certain amount of confidence that I needed at that point in my life - without it I would probably not have gotten to know kallanna and alryssa as well as I did. It doesn't matter that my self-esteem got damaged again later - it all made me stronger in the end, and I have Mike to...not thank for that, but credit as being a part of my development, I guess.
