I'm thinking that we all put way too much pressure on ourselves this time of year. Everyone is trying to create that "perfect" Christmas, the silver screen version, the hallmark card expectations. I'm guilty of it too. And no matter how good a day it may be..it never quite lives up to expectations. And then, if by chance, the day is not great...how oh very low we can fall. This is our first holiday farfar away from friends and family. I miss them all so much. We've been trying hard to create NEW traditions, trying so very hard to be up and happy and enjoying each moment...sometimes more successfully than others...but it falls short. SO I was thinking this morning of Christmas Eve, with our famlies far away and Mr P sick as a dog & sleeping in his recliner and our plans obviously cancelled...what were my happiest christmas moments? And realized that they are moments. NOT full days or full seasons but teeny tiny moments in time. And they are precious gifts. The rest of the season, well it is what it is. And mostly, for me, it is a time of reflection and realizing how very lucky I am.
I wish for all of you precious moments you can remember always
Hugs
