Thanks for the positive encouragement. By the way, I kind of mentioned you to Peter Kivy at the seminar on Tuesday morning, and the metaphysician in the seminar perked up her ears and was quite pleased to hear me mention 'metamathematics' and Kivy said you were welcome to e-mail him. I didn't say that you were planning to e-mail him, I just said that you were applying to various American universities to do a PhD in aesthetics after your MA (I also didn't say which universities).
Glad you're still alive. When it was getting to around lunchtime here and you were still logged on I was getting a bit worried (given time difference). I was hanging around waiting to talk to a friend at Penn State (though what the hell she was doing up at that hour anyway I've no idea). Stay cool - you're clearly doing well.
Actually this is a recreation of the famous 'pot calling the kettle black' scene, since I didn't sleep at all on Monday night trying to get the current draft of my thesis done for my supervisor the next day. His verdict, "The references are screwed!". Still, I like to see conflict as a positive thing.
Hey Chris, sorry about the random IM from me yesterday morning. I have the Trillian messaging programme because I have friends from all over the world that use various messaging devices (most Oxonians tend to use MSN, I've found, many people on LJ have Yahoo!, most Americans still use AIM, etc.), and for some reason when I'm set at AWAY mode it doesn't let me receive messages. Well, I receive them and know I've been messaged, but I haven't figured out how to read them and it also doesn't tell me WHO sent me a message. So I thought I'd IM you and see if it was you. Also, it's fun to chat. :)
