*hangs head* I admit, until 2 years ago I hadn't seen a single XF episode in my life. I moved in with my cousin and her husband for 3 months on my gap year and they used to watch it each night. So I started watching too. The rest is history. But I was never an XF fan at it's height, partly I guess because I was too young but it KILLS me now. I missed everything, and now all I can do is gabble about how amazing it is and know that the rest of the world just thinks it's old news. *sigh*
OMG lol I was a fan when it started and used to watch it avidly. After a year or two we even had Sky so I used to record it for my fellow X-Files fan and give him the tapes at school. I was an X-Files nerd as a kid *gigglesnort*.
I would definitely have to say, that Stargate is one of those shows that need to be watched from the beginning to really understand what in the hey-hoo is going on. A lot of the times they reference places they've already been, people they've already met, etc.
Haha. I know. I always ruin the fun doing things the easy way. :P LOL! Mainly due to the fact that most of the time the hard way can be a bit frustrating. Heh.
Don't sweat it... I started with season 8 and look whre I am today! ;)
The Goa'uld are an evil alien race... they look like a psychotic killer snake but with a mouth like Flukey ;) They are symbiotes, so they burrow into the human body and control the brain... it it possible for the host and symbiaote personality to co exist but the Goa'uld don't allow it...
They are bad because of aforementioned control thing... they see humans as their slaves... they use Jaffa as slaves too; they have a puch thingy in their stomach which nurtures the Goa'uld until it's old enough to take a host...
The Sentinel is the season 5 finale... a finale may not be the best place to start...
I just recommend lots of internet research and nagging me with questions ;)
I love how you put it in terms I can understand. :D
So the Goa'uld are different to the guys we were watching in s10? They both want to control the Galaxy? Does everyone want to control the Galaxy? 'Cos that's just mean.
There is another one after this which I guess will be the s6 opener (my logic is amazing, huh?), so maybe that will help.
No shippy feelings as yet I'm afraid. He's nowhere near her and when he is he just yells at her it seems. *frowns* I told you - I don't give my heart to just any ship - it may take time and patience if at all.
Wow, you are a ~ 2 year old Phile too? I know I used to watch a little X-Files as a kid (it was VERYVERY popular... one girl from my form actually insisted on calling her cat Mulder & her baby sis Dana lol), and then I grew up and realizied I barely remember anything. Just this feeling that I really, really LOVED the show back then. I remember it crystal clear, it's weird. So, I was bored once & decided hey, why not watch the whole thing now that I have a chance... so I had this 9-season spring-summer 2005 marathon and God I'm so glad I went for it, hehe. ;)
There are quite a few of us newbies floating about I think. Enough of us to bring back the fandom in big style I'm sure, if they'd just give us the chance.

My best advice is to completely forget the episode you saw with me... for all intents and purposes it's a completely different show...
Just keep watching, it's the best advice I can give hon...
It'll come hon, it'll come ;)
