So, I thought I'd give y'all a little update on my gorgeous babies. All seven of them. Being hamsters, and therefore a) very tiny and b) very fast, it's near impossible to get good pictures of them. Fortunately, I have the rather brilliant
so_vieh, as a friend, and she in turn has awesome photography skills, which have enabled me to bring you this post.
Frohike. She is absolutely tiny, my littlest by far. She's also the fastest and by far the most mischievous: biting on bars, climbing out her playpen, running around like a maniac: she's Trouble but I love her.
Byers. Until recently Byers and Langly lived together, until Byers decided that she'd attempt to commit siblingside (is that a word?) instead. Despite this, she's actually quite the sweetie-pit. She's my confident girl, always happy to hope on my hand and explore everything. She's VERY nosy.
Langly. She is such a timid little thing, and being beaten up by her sister didn't do great things for that. Despite this, I have a lovely relationship with her, mostly born from the fact that it has taken me so long to build up trust and respect between us.
Max. My grumpy boy! Max is happy now to be picked up and cuddled, but really he'd rather be sat in his wheel, surveying his kingdom. My first rescue, I have SUCH a softspot for his drama king ways.
Maggie. The little girl myself and
tauwja from a horrible pet shop near to where I live. FYI, I'm currently in the process of reporting said pet shop to the RSPCA, as they're standards are getting worse, not better. We just couldn't leave such a beautiful face there, and now, she's all grown up. VERY grown up, in fact, she's become something of a chubby slob, but she still has the sweetest nature and is happy to enquire into anything and everything.
Albert. Also known as Albus (thanks, Vieh!), but most commonly called Albi. My one and only Syrian. He was very shy at first but recently has discovered the joys of RUNNING AWAY FROM MUMMY AT ANY AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITY. Monkey. He's absolutely beautiful and has the most expression-ate face.
Charlie. This little guy came to me from the RSPCA rescue centre local to me. He was left there by a woman whose teenage son 'couldn't be bothered' with him anymore. Do not get me started. Despite this abandonment and subsequent 6 months spent looking for a new home, he is the loveliest little thing. So sweet and confident, and, after Frohike, the most active, which is amazing considering he's actually in advanced years for a hamster.
And finally, this little guy isn't a hamster, but this is pretty much the cutest photo ever and I have to share. Harry:
