I gave in and am currently off work sick. I was desperate to keep going (I don't want a bad sick record and oh, the guilt the guilt of knowing how hard the ward is atm and how impossible and stressful it is to work one down) but they sent me home yesterday and I've taken today and tomorrow off too. I need a break.

So, I am focusing on all this election stuff instead. Myself and Joey wondered down to the polling station, where on the way I explained all about voting, why I thought voting Lib Dem was important (good NHS policies, I agree with quite a lot of what they say and I don't think anything would ever convince me to vote Labour and certainly not Tory) and why some people don't think that everyone is equal, and how these people want to get into power so they can be nasty to others. I'm not entirely sure he got it, lol, but he did enjoy putting the ballet paper into the box whilst the whole room cooed 'Awwwww' at him.

I was SO disappointed that my voting options around here were the three main parties, UKIP and the BNP. It's so depressing that I may stand as an independent next time around just to get another option on there. I stand for better wages for NHS front line workers and, um, chocolate.

Sarcasm aside, there is a genuine exciting buzz around this election that I've never felt before. I'm kinda into this. I really, really hope this results in some kind of (non-blue!) change. Even a Hung Parliament would be interesting and shake things up a bit. Either way, I never thought I would be this engaged in politics.

england's green and pleasant land, work, joey, pity party for me
