Scene. Sam's Driveway.

Mar 21, 2011 15:59

It had been a long time since Sam had felt that weight-lifting feeling from his chest that came after having a long, honest talk with Santana. Actually, it had been a long time since Sam had even attempted any couple-y interaction with Santana at all, let alone speaking with her. Her answer to the original song assignment had hurt him, but for all the wrong reasons. Maybe if he wasn't feeling so lost and jealous it wouldn't have made him so upset. She had tried apologizing, which was a colossal gesture coming from Santana Lopez, and he couldn't figure out how to forgive her. Not for just the song, obviously.

He sat at the edge of his driveway, kicking rocks with the toe of his shoe to see how far out in the street he could get them to sail before they tumbled back to the ground. His head cocked up in attention as he heard a front door open then slam shut a few houses down. He held his breath when he saw it was Santana, now standing out on her front lawn staring at him. He wasn't sure what to do. It had been so long. Just seeing her...it hurt a little but felt so free and good all at once.
