I always feel sort of distraught when my family leaves. My mom, brother and sister were here for 8 days (Fri night through Sat morning) and by the end of the trip I was tired of all the teenage annoying whining bullshit my siblings were pulling, and a little annoyed by my mom's pointed remarks about how I needed to get a TV job, but I still keep tearing up thinking about her leaving. I'm also super tired: I've been waking up before ten every day and driving them all around the city, going and going more than I ever do, and today we had to get up at 5:30 to make it to the airport on time. It makes me even sadder.
Luckily, today Doctor Who premiered. I'm pretty sure it's the first time I've ever watched it one episode at a time, and I'm really excited, though of course I'll probably never be able to watch an episode live again, because I always work Saturday nights.
Anyway. Here's a round up of my week!
- Saw six celebs (by "celebs," I mean people I recognized from TV): Simon Baker of The Mentalist shooting his show in the Burbank mall; Mario Lopez shooting Extra at the Grove; that "bad boy" that Aimee Teegarden is paired up with in Prom; Aimee Teegarden; Ken Baumann from Secret Life and Castle (who I've seen before and almost literally ran into in the Grove Barnes & Noble); Darren motherfucking Criss, who was signing Glee Presents The Warblers and was adorable and looked me straight in the eye and said, "Thank you for waiting so long." and signed his name with a smiley face and exclamation point.
- got 6 new CDs (5 from the Clearance bins at Amoeba Records and the aforementioned Darren Criss signed Glee CD)
- got 4 new books (2 scripts from Amoeba Records, Dan in Real Life and Pieces of April; the story of the Warner Brothers from the WB tour; and Bossypants)
- went to Hollywood, like, a billion times
- went to the beach once
- got tipsy off of one Cosmo my mom bought for me
- went swimming 3 times
- learned that Dick Van Dyke is going to be signing his memoir at the Grove B&N on May 10, and already asked for the afternoon off so I can go stand in line for hours and get to gaze at Dick Van Dyke's happy face
- randomly won a box set of three of her books from Sarah Dessen by leaving a comment on her blog
- I don't know, this week was so long.
I have to work tomorrow, and every day until Thursday, and most likely every day next weekend, and I'm still only going to make rent this month because my mom wrote me a check for $300, which she can only sort of afford. I do have plans to go see Dayplayer for free on Thursday in Hollywood, which I'm fucking excited about, and I'd like to meet them or something (it's free for people who e-mailed their name, and then Luke e-mailed me back and was like, "You're on the list, Samantha!" and I got really, really excited about that). And then Dick Van Dyke, and then May 28th I'm heading to Chicago, where I will be poor and drunk and be there for too long like my family was almost here too long, and I don't know, I'm a whole mix of emotions right now. (Lonely. Excited for things to happen. Already tired from the next week of work and the last week of "vacation." Everything)
