I never knew I needed ZQ talking to his penis in my life until today.
The short film ZQ was hinting at was finally posted today:

So I was reading through some of the comments on ontd_startrek and it seems that this one of those things that either you absolutely loved and thought was hysterical, or you will be saying 'what the fuck, that makes no sense and it isn't funny'.
I think the second time through I liked it a lot better because I was able to get past the initial shock of ZQ swearing all over the place. I'm just not used to it, I guess. I maintain Heroes would be so much more fun if it was on HBO. Plus, he admits to not swearing a lot in real life, too. Minor thing, but it threw me off because I went in not expecting it.
Hysterical points:
1. ZQ yelling at his penis. Idc who you are, you should at least find that funny.
2. "For realsies, baby." YES. Only funny if you know ZQ's from Pittsburgh. The accent comes out, too.
3. Holding a video camera, a gun, and passing out in the delivery room.
4. The incorporation of Brad Paisley into this. And then Brad tweeting ZQ today about it. LOVE.
5. The part where ZQ complains about the kids running around pointing play guns at each other. I don't know where they possibly learned that...
6. ZQ holding the bb being impatient with it.
7. The therapist being the only person to tell them they're both insane.
8. The ending. The whole time he has the gun to her head, threatens her repeatedly, but ends up killing her accidentally. Ironic and appropriate at the same time.
I think that with this, you can't go into it thinking it's supposed to be serious. It's dark humor, and exactly what the title suggests. The absurd notion that a hostage could fall in love with her captor is just that-- entirely absurd. It's a play on that and requires a few viewings to catch the subtler commentary. I think it's executed well for what it was trying to accomplish.
Ohh, plus the first scene? They had the cops called on them while they were actually shooting it a few months ago. People thought ZQ was actually holding the place up. Ironic, yes?
